Not sure if it will be a true litmus test but if the major networks no longer lockstep with whatever PBS is reporting there may be hope. HMMM, there might actually be a legitimate use for PBS after all. The old,"You only exist to serve as an example for others." tome.

^^^ See my post above. I don't watch TV news, either. No broadcast or cable. You can always read the news online. They will have all these different video segments of their news and interviews, and you can judge for yourself.

Btw, they (the still remaining DNC operatives) were sabotaging Tony Dokoupil's ignaugural newscast on Monday evening by swapping video segments thus confusing him. And, the leftists on the other outlets started celebrating, "Ooh, this was a disaster for Bari Weiss blah blah blah..."

I don't know how the TV side is going, but the "news" on their website is still the same left leaning garbage.

They may actually be trying to move in the right direction, but I don't think that big ship is going to turn on a dime.

CBS has drawn attention with this posturing and when they go way over the line - and they will - they'll be that much harder pressed to defend their actions. Their history precedes them. FWIW.

Back in 1980, I was in college and I was very liberal. During the late summer, once the Presidential race was down to Jimmeh Carter and Ronaldus Magnus, I was home before school started back. My parents had the TV on every evening and it was tuned to CBS during the news hour.

Every time the Presidential race was being reported on, CBS would put on a photo on the screen of the candidate being discussed. When they discussed Carter, they used his official Presidential portrait, fully airbrushed and touched up to make him look his best.

Every time they discussed Reagan, they put up a grainy, black and white photo taken while he was speaking somewhere. The lighting came from directly above him, and it was harsh. It highlighted the deep lines in his face, and his mouth was open just enough that you could only see his bottom teeth, which were crooked. He looked like a monster.

Keep in mind that Reagan had been a Hollywood actor, and also had just stepped down as California's governor just a few years before, so he also had the nice, polished photos as the sitting governor that CBS could have used, as well as hundreds of others.

The same two photos were shown night after night. After a while, it struck me. Even as a liberal, I knew that this wasn't fair, and it was no accident. That was when I first realized that "news" wasn't really news. It was a huge wake-up.

I rarely ever watch MSM evening news now, but made a point to tape and watch CBS the past few days. Over the weekend and on Monday, I was delighted. Wow, more just reporting facts, and if anything a slant towards being unafraid to be frankly proud of the operation in Venezuela. But the past two nights, back to more of the usual. Yes. They aren't changing their stripes. Either the WP or the NYT made a similar statement after the 2016 election. Of course that didn't happen.

What they mean as that they going to try to be more subtle in delivering their leftwing bias to anyone dumb enough to watch them and believe they are news.
