"When I first attended forty-two years ago, Fancy Farm was a pretty lonely place to be a Republican. But, my, How times have changed. Today, western Kentucky is a conservative Republican sea of Red."

I suspect in truth, Mitch was more comfortable there when it was a lonely place to be a Republican.

Were the guys like those who faked Juicy Small-Yeah's racial incident yelling back then: "This is RINO country!" as they beat their fake victims at Fancy Farm?

Does Mitch now get a say in picking a successor? Say someone who might continue to harass DJT?

August 3 is 90 days before Election Day.

Per the new 2024 Kentucky Election Law for Special Elections, if a seat is declared vacant 56 days before regular election, then the General Election will suffice to fill the vacancy. That day is September 8.

Embarrassing for him and his supporters, perhaps. I, on the other hand, am amused.

One thing is for certain- ol' Mitch is done in the Senate.

did he resign? If not he's not done. That is the issue. I am out of the news loop so have not heard anything recently. So maybe he did and that is what you are saying?

If you think it’s bad for his supporters, consider the embarrassment that the good citizens of the Commonwealth have been having.

Mitch is the Republican equivalent of Nancy Pelosi; he’s holding onto power as long as he’s breathing. Let’s hope he doesn’t repeat what happened with Natcher.

Longtime U.S. Representative William Natcher (D-Ky.) was wheeled onto the House floor on a hospital gurney on March 3, 1994. He made the trip from the hospital to cast his final votes and maintain his historic, unbroken record of 18,401 consecutive roll-call votes. He arrived from Bethesda Naval Hospital by ambulance on a gurney with IV lines and oxygen to cast his final votes near the end of his life before passing away later that month.

I'm saying that if you take cranberries and stew them like applesauce, they taste much more like prunes than rhubarb does.

He's done. He is no longer a voice in the Senate, same with Pelosi, etc. Sure, he is still "officially" a member of the senate, but that is just window dressing at this point.
