He will not let another state outdo him in regards to gun control. Not New York, not Oregon. If one thinks the above legislation is wack, wait another 6 months for Newsom. It will be a mindfuck.

It has no chance of passing. The courts will strike this down. These laws cannot be enforced. Nobody will comply. And a host of other pithy quotes to follow.
Complacency kills. What ever we might think about these coming laws, taxes, and the like, they are being discussed as if they havea chance. Which, to me, means they have a chance of becoming law. California gun owners scoffed at proposition 63. Then they sat around waiting for a court to help by overturning the laws. Too many gun owners could not be bothered to vote, let alone write letters or otherwise try and be heard. Stay vigilant Oregon. And to those of you in free states, also stay involved. Because this mess is spreading quickly.

The Socialist have a super majority in both houses of the legislature and the governor will gleefully sign any anti-gun bill that reaches her desk. The State Supreme Court and 9th Court will uphold it. The U.S. Supreme Court is our only hope.

The bill came from Students for Change, a group of Lake Oswego teens formed last year after the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. They lobbied lawmakers and Gov. Kate Brown last year and pledged to come back this year with a legislative proposal.

Rep. Andrea Salinas, D-Lake Oswego, and Sen. Rob Wagner, D- Tualatin, submitted Senate Bill 501 on their behalf.

Wagner said that it's "probably a long shot that something like this passes in whole cloth," but this is the bill the students wanted to put in front of the Legislature.

"What we told them is that this is your movement, and we want to support you as representatives," Wagner said.

And I'm sure these teens came up with this idea for legislation all on their own. I find it despicable that the left keeps planting their narrative and using them as puppets to spew it.

Is this list final, or can they still add more? what's the deadline?

I heard about some more that I don't see on that list.

Here is a rather odd one, WTF and all that. Just not buying one is not good enough, you get to add your name to a list to not sell to - apparently just in case you have a moment of weakness and try to buy one. Knack sorry you put yourself on this list, what were you thinking trying to buy a gun. What happened to you, have you gone mad? You used to be such a reliable NPC useful idiot. Off to Siberia for some cultural reprogramming comrade.

^^ I wonder if the long term plan is to "enhance" it so that others can add you to the list. Children, siblings, wives, etc.

Good point, sounds like a clusterfuck

(6) The department shall develop and implement a publicity and advertising campaign for the Do Not Sell List that, at a minimum, includes:
(a) Providing information concerning the Do Not Sell List to health care providers, firearm dealers and the general public.
(b) Ensuring that the address of the Internet website for the list is made generally available to the public.
(c) Ensuring that a link to the Internet website for the list is prominently displayed on the Internet website of the department

living on the east side of Oregon we are a totally different culture over here than over in the I-5 corridor.

Unfortunately we can't outvote the west (Socialist) side of our state.

I do my part to vote against any and all gun control bills, and any tax increases.

since I'm a glass half full guy....

There are a couple of bills which seem worthwhile. Reciprocal CHL for those who visit the state as an example. Allowing those small counties with no Sheriff to apply for a CHL is another example.

Any possibility of something good coming out of this session???

I usually don't let myself get sucked into these types of quasi-legal discussions. But how could this hold up in a non-Oregon court of law? I mean, 5 rounds of ammo and transfer of 20 rounds of ammo per month? How can that not be considered regulating away a fundamental, Consitutional right?

The one thing I'm surprised I don't see are sky-high taxes on things like ammo and firearms, and background checks. You know, a $20 box of ammo has a $20 or $40 tax? Etc. Is there an effective limit in the law to how much an item can get taxed based on its innate value?

You'll note it was a general question, not specifically "aimed" at OR.
