That is perhaps one minor issue. There is a whole lot more to the choice than that, to say the least. Mr. Noir is the most articulate, enthusiastic, intelligent person whom I know who speaks for us. He completely understands what is going on and is always fighting for our God given rights. He is the one who could not only bring the group back from the brink, but help us grow and get the message out as never before. | |||

Let's be fair to Wayne. He is taking a salary cut, after all, just like everyone else. The man may have to make do on only one million a year. Give the guy a break, now that he's going to be slumming it like everyone else. The man's practically broke. How will the NRA afford that six million dollar palace? Maybe that accounts for the salary cuts. | |||

I find this a most interesting discussion. I live in VA. I have not seen so much anti Wayne Lapierre rhetoric since the State legislature elections last year. Bloomberg was filling my mailbox with this same kind of talk. I would like to see some of the people that are upset with how much money Wayne makes to suggest what they think would be a fair salary package for him? He is managing a multi million dollar multi million member enterprise. Should he make more than some of the people working for him? Accountants, lawyers, lobbyists? He is living in the Washington, D.C. metro area, one of the most expensive places to live in the country. May be we should just find someone who likes guns and pay him minimum wage? I like Colin Noir. I wonder if he has the skills to manage an outfit as big as the NRA? I think it might be interesting to see what other people managing a comparable organization make. I have been upset with the NRA since the 1986 M.G. Ban. But I think they have done a lot of good over the years and this kind of talk about not supporting them sure makes the anti gunners happy. I can picture a bunch of you sitting around talking about the NRA and making Michael Bloomberg very happy. Maybe I am so used to seeing the anti gun media demonizing the NRA, I am having a hard time seeing it hear. I wonder how many of the posters here are voting members of the NRA and have gotten involved in running the Board for or supporting people that are? I have been a life member since the 1970s. I used to vote for Neal Knox and his people. I am not thrilled with Wayne, but I think if the NRA fails it will be a huge win for the anti gunners and a huge defeat for people who value their gun rights. | |||

^^^ Well said ironworker. Additionally, it is getting tiresome hearing all the whining. True the recent optics are not the best but the media has made good hay out of beating down the NRA. Colion would be spectacular and as a spokesman he cannot be beat. Even though he is an articulate and intelligent lawyer - could he do the job administratively? Also his fantastic message could dissipate with the responsibilities and that would be tragic. Still hearing all the Wayne complaints and whining may be worse than having him in there. YMMV | |||

He's the boss and controls the board. At least thats what the culture there looks like. Suprised at the following the NRA has considering how its under one mans control. NRA was born in a more virtuos and trusting time. WLP is a modern day operator who found an outfit he could make his own. | |||
