I have missed them too. But the forum is so diversified that honestly I guess I have not really missed them a ton. But I will be glad to see them back. It will be nice when ever that time comes.

Classifieds will return some time in the next 30 days. Some changes will be made in the forum, nothing drastic, and the implementation will be easy for me.

The real work will begin once Classifieds returns. I am committed to providing a marketplace for the members of this forum.

You'll understand what's involved once I lay it all out, and anyone who intends to use Classifieds will need to get their ADD under control and read everything I post about this in advance of the reopening, because if you intend to buy from Classifieds, you must do certain things to make sure that you don't get ripped off.

Any successes by these low-life, amoral slithering insects who can't be bothered to treat others decently will serve to encourage them. The key to driving them off is wariness and care in your transactions, so great and so consistent, that they will eventually come to understand that from this point on, there will be no complacency on our part. We will strive to make it more trouble than it's worth for them. Of course, they have all day, since they can't be bothered to have a real job, so...

It's perfectly natural that an online marketplace that's been in place for years and years, and has had only occasional problems with thieves, will become too comfortable over time, and that's when the vermin move in. From this point on, we will be wary and suspicious of every transaction, until by buyer and seller engaging and getting to know one another, confidence to proceed will be there.

If you guys want a marketplace here, existing circumstances dictate this approach and you must do your part.

August of last year, in the lead-up to the closing, I asked you guys "Who is a thief in Classifieds?' and answered my own question by saying "Everyone".

By automatically assuming any seller you contact to do business with is a thief who will take your money and disappear, and then working backwards from that assumption to assure yourself that the seller is legitimate.

You must take this approach- that everyone is trying to rip you off. Likewise, the seller must understand this from the outset and be prepared to prove they are legitimate, and in the back-and-forth, everyone must hold their temper and understand that by this vetting, we keep the thieves from your money.

Since no new members will be allowed to post items for sale or trade, the thieves will hijack existing accounts. Everyone must understand this.
