Alas while the wicked cold of the storm bites and the snow piles up, whether by the grace of God or through our own will we have managed not to begin eating each other and using the discarded clothing for toilet paper. I fear that may change with the coming of yet another 3 to 4 inches of snow. I hope this letter finds you well, alas I must go now as I hear our table being called for dinner.......

"DONNER.....DONNER.....DONNER PARTY OF 4. Big Grin Razz

MY GOD PEOPLE LOSE THEIR SHIT OVER A LITTLE SNOW. I know, I know its not my first rodeo but it never ceases to amaze me how people will prepare for a few inches of snow like it is a coming meteor storm poised to end life as we know it.

I mean Jesus folks, keep a pack of 12 rolls of TP and a pack of Raman noodles in reserve for Christ's sake. I feel like you will make it through the impending doom with little issue and not much outlay of money.

Sigh. So How is everybody else coping with this MASSIVE SNOW STORM!!!!!! Roll Eyes Me, I love snow. I am enjoying the hell out of it. I mean at least until I am forced to eat the kids..... Eek Wink

We dipped below freezing for the first time in a year. Parts of Texas (e.g. Dallas Ft Worth) are supposed to get a wintry mix later this week.

Grocery stores will be wiped out worse than a hurricane.

Same here!

Just shoveled the driveway... but not going out until tomorrow. A few people have made it up our street, which is kind of steep, but I don't see the need, at least not until the plow comes through. We had about 9-10" or so.

Ava (the dog) loves it and managed to find and uncover her frisbee in the the snow. Impressive!
Of course I had to throw it to her...

The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Not looking forward to the grocery store this week. I didn’t go the last 2 weeks (I stock up to avoid the bullshit during the 2 holiday weeks) so I’m getting really low on supplies. I have enough to get through the week if need be but the fucking mindless brain dead zombie pieces of shit buy all the bread, milk, TP, paper towels, etc, for a couple of days of freezing weather Roll Eyes I’m so fucking tired of it. A wintry mix oh my, the shock and horror compared to the northern states. Roll Eyes

Down here on the panhandle of Florida, I'm watching the temperature venture down to where it may be cold enough to use my fireplace. I usually only get 1 or 2 days a year where I can have a fire without running the air conditioner. I think tonight might be the night.
My wife made chili last night and we all know it is better the second day.

Stay warm

I'm outside DC by 33 miles north and west of the city.

I have closing in on 9" of snow.

Its still snowing.

The cats are curled up on whatever will keep them warmer than I can (e.g., cat heating pads). I intend to sacrifice one to the look-of-a-cat-in-snow God later today.

Just ended here in the Cincinnati area.

We have a solid 12 inches based on our yard stick. I guessed it as more, but the measuring stick don't lie.

The "mega storm" has given us a beautiful day here in northern WV. About 6-7" on the ground now with light snow falling for another couple hours. And the nice thing is the highest temps over the next 10 days will stay below freezing to enjoy X-country skiing.
Sophie dog and I were on a trail a few hours ago on a SXS and I took this pic of a tree stand that was here from the previous owner. Then back to top up the back porch with firewood.

About seven inches here, not heart attack inducing snow but still a bit heavy. Dug one car out and cleaned it off then cleared a path for the mailman. Came inside for a break and to make a big cup of hot tea, and presto! It's began again. I'll clean it again later; the tea is too good to waste.

I wouldn't mind some snow. Apparently, we're in a drought. We should have had some snow late November but nothing yet.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." My daughter and son-in-law are making their way across Montana and North Dakota today. She says it's really slow going. Lots of slide-offs and slippery conditions.

We only got about 2 inches today here in NE PA

My coworkers by you down in Herndon got walloped with the amount you described.

Finally Buffalo escapes one. Just south of Buffalo, in the typical snow belt, we got a dusting. About an inch a few days ago but just cold here.

We got 11" in KCMO. I think it was literally the worst snowstorm I can remember this century as far as road conditions, but power stayed most everywhere and I didn't take a lot of reports for trees in the roadway.

Now if the Heavy Duty Tow Services can get the stuck Semis of the road things could really clear up.

Major disaster here inside the DC Beltway, perhaps 6 inches fell, but sleet/freezing rain knocked it down to about 2" or so. Still enough to clear the shelves of TP, milk, whatever. Stocked up early with Bourbon, etc. so I am OK.

I did see a cluster of brass monkeys headed South.
