Oh really? How many gay, lesbian, trans gendered folks have you intereacted with?

Most just want to live their lives,a few are political. Mozt that i have met are apolitical.

I have had clients, friends, and aquaintences. My wife has worked with many over her career, now participates in rollerderby with many. You would be surprised at how many are gun owners and advocates for the right to defend themselves.

I like arcs well layed out points and the structure of his debate. You dont. I did not comment at you. I coppied Arc.

On a side note, i am wondering if either were habitual MJ users. There seems to be several indicators that young troubled minds can not cope with MJ's effects.

While i disagree with the lifestyle choice, and comppletely agree with Arc about it being left to adults not pushed on children, this thread should not be used to bash gender identity. If you want to argue, please take it odffline or start a new thread.

I think this is worth quoting. Because the conversation you want to have about the shooting is very much worth having. And the conversation others want to have about trans issues is also worth having, but should really exist apart from this one. I would hate to see this thread get locked because it devolved purely into a trans thing. I might have something to say about both topics, but as things are trending now, I don't feel like it does anyone any good to do so at this point.

Admittedly i have not read the book or the studdies listed in the book. That said, there is listed in the article several studies listed about the correlatian between those with mental illness and heavy mj use. That does not mean causation. There are also plenty of studies relating to violent behavior and mental health issues and mj use.

So we have troubled teens already in a demographic prone to mental health issues , we add the radical political factors shown in social media tweets. We see the violence from the act. I simply am wondering if they were mj users, it is colorado after all.

As shown in the article at least one study shows people with schizophernia (sp) are up to 50% more likely to commit murder when combined with mj.

I have read a few dozen posts in these threads over the years saying it is all the mood altering drugs perscribed to these killers that set them off. Well MJ is a mood altering drug, that was 2% active ingriedient in the 70's and now canbe as much as 25% today. Even more if you are using distilled terps.

So are hormones. Why get completely off topic with extra speculation?

So add hormones to my list. Speculation? Morr like another bit of anecdotal evidence that drugs for mental health issues when not taken correctly, or self perscribed can lead to violent behavior.

Insimply have an interest in learning if there is a drug connection, like past shootings. I am betting there is, either perzcribed or not. I will also bet that both were habitual users. If so, then the question i would ask is when they started using. Would that coincide with their mental heal decline? Or did their violent and radical political leanings stem from the use.

Man, for someone around since 2005, you're not too bright. Don't do this again.

There could be correlations to drugs but I think it’s more about the change in people’s willingness to kill. If you read “On Killing” it covers that in other areas but these mass murders seem to be more commonly accepted as a means of lashing out at a group they disagree with. I don’t think any one thing drives this other than a willingness to murder. I have been acquainted with homosexual, transgender, regular mj users etc that have never been violent.

To the actual topic:

I chose a career path that keeps me straddled on both side of the fence; the normal civilized world, and the side of social and asocial violence. I get to see it more than most - so do many on SF.

My POV; It's not about any gender, social trend, politics or extraneous root cause.
It's all about normal, decent civilized people who just want to go home, live their lives, & enjoy brief bits of happiness battling savages.
