I agree, the sick fucks shouldn’t be named at all, I have intentionally avoided the news on this and other shooters because all they do is talk about the shooter....fuck them....we shouldn’t mention their name at all in my opinion

We should give this "No Notoriety" thing a try. Please remove the names and links to the details about the shooters. They should be nameless and faceless.

The MSM is doing their best to bury this story and who the shooters are. While I'm in support of not identifying who's these sick bastards are, their agenda certain runs counter to what the news wants to report and castigate.

Yep. They are pretty quiet about this one.

It is times like this that Trump needs to come out full bore and show the hypocrisy of both the left and the media that are trying to water down an act of murder and draw away from the fact that Christians were specifically targeted. When gays, blacks, Muslims, etc are targeted it’s a hate crime. But not Christians evidently. NOW it’s a mental health issue, those poor confused people.

Mass shootings are a unique news event.

The idea behind "No Notoriety" is to not give the shooters the attention they seek, and also to demonstrate a behavior that signals to would-be mass shooters that no one cares who the shooters are.

It's a potentially effective tool against producing more mass shooters, and we should give it a try.

Ultimately, what needs to happen is some restraint when posting "articles" about these events, and actually making an effort in this case to try to stick by No Notoriety. Meaning that your Heavy.com "articles" need not be posted here.

The motivations of mass shooters are seldom complex, and at best worth a few sentences in any news item. At this moment you can open almost any article and eventually read the names of the shooters, but the focus isn't on them. It has also reached the "mainstream media" that these students were LGBT.

Many of these shootings have the shooter posting some sort of "manifesto." I don't think that happened here, but we also really don't need to read the words that any of these people have written on social media.

It's going to take some effort, no notoriety.

At the very least, let's not post any content related specifically and directly at the shooters themselves. We all have the internet and we can all go dig for it if we really want it. Please, in the case of mass shootings, stick to the boring AP/NPR major news stuff, and stay away from the heavy.com/liveleak type stuff. The facts will always come out. When it's an article about the whole situation, and has no focus on the shooters yet describes them and outlines motivations, OK.

The very point is to make sure that someone contemplating a mass shooting sees that they won't have their name, face, and message plastered on every website.

We can guess a lot about a shooters motivations from a brief description, and their targets. These kids were gay/trans, that much has made it to the regular old news.

When it's a muslim, that's all I need to know. When it's a white guy, that's all I need to know. So on and so forth. Who shoots up black churches? Who shoots up synagogues? What is the typical motivation of a school shooter?

They were bullied, they felt like an outcast, they had familial and/or mental problems... and in this case the kids were gay/trans. Considering how close they were to Columbine, well, they probably had their whole lives to talk about that..

The focus here should be on the heros and victims. Period. Again, it's basically impossible to not read the shooters name somewhere, but it should be little more than a passing note.

Their politics, what's between their legs, and who they sleep with means nothing to me. They are simply evil people that's it. No different then if someone who is crazy shoots people and happens to believe in a similar political beliefs as you. I do agree they should not get their infamy, they should be earased from history. I hate the fact that I know who Dylan Klebold is.

Gender transitioning, if it is done at all, should be done once someone is an adult. Kids should not be encouraged to be transgender. Few of us know who we are before we're an adult.

They hate. That’s all I need to see. That is the root. Whatever comes after the word “hate” in any of their statements....be it school, Trump, sexuality, etc., etc., etc., is secondary to the fact that they hate. That they chose to let their hate manifest itself into their minds to cause mental illness and that the result was this tragic outcome is on them. In an absolute sense, they alone are accountable to the consequences of their actions. Is there room for parent, teacher, caregiver, family counseling and intervention? Sure there is. The kids at the vigil who walked out chanting “mental illness” get it. They are closest to this situation. The students see it is not the guns. I read a report last night that the armed security guard at the school lost his damn mind during the event and actually shot at responding police officers and may have even shot an innocent child in the process. If true, this story will get big and go far, and the moms demand morons will run with that story in their propaganda efforts.
