There was a post some months about a full length steel plate you screw onto your door jam (and into studs) to bolster it's strength.

I haven't had luck finding the item so I'm trying to find the link that the poster shared. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Rick

He posted the link.

I installed these on my mother’s house.

There will be no kicking in of the door in a timely fashion. I was pretty surprised at how much this thing beefed up the door.

Good stuff. Most break ins are through a forced door. Many will go on the first good kick.

I’ve got Door Armor and extra 3” screws in other doors. Medeco locks, too. I also have one of the shields that protect from someone pulling the garage release, and the garage entry door is hardened. And it all stays locked.

Very important part of a layered system (dog, alarm, etc).

Knowing what one is talking about is widely admired but not strictly required here.

Although sometimes distracting, there is often a certain entertainment value to this easy standard.

I bought this, it comes with 2 of them.

Also make sure and use 3" deck screws to tie your hinges into the frame as well.

I got one for each exterior door called the Door Devil. Looks sturdy, and has good reviews. They are online, a small company in Rockwall TX I think.

"Jamb" (with a "b"). "Jam" is a fruit spread or a verb meaning something is stuck.

Screw all that, you live in Florida. Go to a impact rated fiberglass front door and frame with 3" tapcons into the concrete. Much more secure than adding what you want to add. Can't lift it off of the hinges with the door closed, even if you pull the pins out.

Yes ffips that't it. Thank you!

Skins, when we're back in the house and I have my guns back... me and the cats are gonna talk about their role in the family. lol

Flashguy, I lost most my B's in hurricane Michael so I have to use them sparingly. Razz Wink

As much as I've always liked the idea of that, I'm in the second consecutive house with so much glass on the front and rear doors and nearby to make this like putting up a gate in the middle of a field.
