By the way- just so you and everyone else will know (for future reference)- you didn't have to delete your post. If I felt it or the portion in question needed to disappear, one of two things would have happened; either I would have edited your post, or I would have asked you to edit it.

I don't leave any doubt when it comes to what I allow to appear in this forum. In this instance, I was merely establishing a line which should not be crossed.

This is the end result of the corrupting and financial exploitation of Dr. Martin Luther King's vision and dream. A small segment of that community has created this shameful angst.

I beg to differ. This is due to Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" which provided for Welfare, food stamps and subsidized housing, which has spawned several generations of people who expect the government to support them, including paying unmarried women to crank out children, who then have their own children out of wedlock at a young age, and those children continue the cycle.

There are additional factors, including a culture of bitter resentment against whites, and a general disdain for authority, learning, and adherence to the social contract.

MLK, in my opinion, is the least of it. For the most part, a lid was held on this bullshit until the appearance of one of the biggest frauds ever in this country, Barack Obama.

Para,
Your points are head on as well, LBJ wanted this, and all Obama caused.

In years past, a two-parent household was required to make it possible to support children, but Johnson's "Great Society" made the father unnecessary, replacing it with governmental subsidies, and here we are, sixty years on, and the result is the kind of thing we see above. It wouldn't even occur to this woman to question how things have been structured, and whether or not there is any dignity any it. Her idea of self-respect is as twisted and perverted as it can be.

We owe her nothing. If you can't afford to feed, clothe and care for children, then, by God, don't have children.

Are you new here, Gustofer? It's bad enough that you pull that shit at all, knowing full well my policy on such things, but for you to do it with something I posted, is a slap in the face.

Tell me- what did your comment add to the conversation? Would her remarks be any less offensive or clueless if she weighed 90 pounds?

It might be a good time for you to take a moment to be appreciative I'm allowing this thread you created to move forward, and my efforts to keep it on track.

It has been my understanding that your policy included looks...something nobody has any control over, and I agree with that. Her obesity, funded by us via handouts, she has complete control over, so perhaps by cutting those handouts she could "miss a few meals" and lose the weight. That was the only point I was making.

Comment deleted.

The point, I believe, is judging/ridiculing people by their appearance rather than their character.

Are there no slim people on Welfare?

You should now have a clearer understanding of the policy, so, this shouldn't be an issue again.

It took Samuel L. Jackson an entire career to say "motherfucker," "fuck" and "shit" what that broad said in a few minutes. And from the inside of a car, no less. Yes, our country that oppresses her so much is so "bad" that even poor people have cars, and get more from welfare than a full-time minimum-wage job.

What did LBJ say?
“Give them just enough, and they’ll be voting Democrat for the next 300 years”?
Yeah, success on that point.

Now, as to the rest of your statement- and the, to summarize, “where’s my free shit!?!” attitude… well, that mentality just wants more free shit.
Respect. Well, if you’re raised not to respect yourself, how in the hell are you going to respect anything else? Yet, all that is screamed out is “Yall need to respect me!” while standing in front of the Projects (Section 8 Housing) with garbage tossed about.
Toss in a generational gap of ~17 years.

You’re 100% right.
I’ve seen it damn near every day for the past 29+ years here in Chicago.

I love, absolutely LOVE when someone says something about “having a conversation”. I really don’t think anyone can handle that conversation.

Supposedly, Johnson said "I'll have those niggers voting Democratic for 200 years."

The quote is apocryphal, relying on a single source, a steward, who supposedly heard Johnson say this to two state governors on Air Force One.

This does sound like something Johnson would say, and he probably did say it, but you have to take the word of one man who may have had motivation to put those words in Johnson's mouth. Johnson had been dead for a quarter of a century when the claim was made public.
