One view is that in the international warfare to take down America, China is being forced to shut down their production as a last ditch tactic to put a stake in us.

Yes, we have a weakness - our cultural demands for luxury goods at the cheapest possible price in order to have more material possessions than the next guy. As evidence I present the tag lines of a lot of posters, gun forums, car forums, knife forums, computer forums, watch forums - a long extensive listing of their personal possessions which certify they are better than others simply because they manage debit.

There is an offsetting group, who don't go that far, and who do their own work, not buy it, and for the most part those are the guys who still live comfortably but who don't achieve renown for the stable of women, cars, and guns. It's not their single purpose in life to over achieve at everything while contributing little to the character of America.

I leave it to Dear Reader to know which camp they are in and who supports China more than the US.

Once upon a time you could buy American made appliances that would last 30-40 years and parts were readily available. Many people only got rid of their appliances because the styles changes 25-30 years later, they were still going strong.

China is the enemy of the entire world. They have had their eye on world domination for a long time and they are poised to make it happen thanks to the “asshole administration” and the morons that voted for them. I still believe that Trump turning the screws on the loathsome commies led to the release of the Chinese virus.

Trump was right and I will keep pounding this in the leftist trash. Especially when people are losing their jobs as companies have to shutter from lack of materials and the competition planned ahead.

I saw this coming and had the board to allow me to purchase a year's stock of materials in advance back in December and now, a supply chain crisis has hit the vendors. The company I work for can weather this out as workarounds are implemented, but many others that live month to month on materials won't.

Mars, can you hazard a guess as to how much you saved the company with that foresight?? PLUS inventory is on hand! Excellent foresight!

America and it's populace is now and will forever be "chasing" the bargain. Who is responsible for "low cost"? The migration of production did not start with the government, it was a business decision motivated by the desires of 'others'!

Definitely one of the best things about the Trump presidency was his recognition of the threat China posed to the United States on many fronts and his efforts to address those threats. All for naught under these clowns.

This reminds me of another of the "best and the brightest" ideas, just in time delivery.
Works great when everything is operating perfectly.
Not so much in times like now and the near future.
The potential good news, this could actually wake up a few people that are slow learners and that don't read history.
For a long list of reasons, we need to take this threat seriously, now. A few decades ago would have been much better but now is what we got.

This problem is similar to a smaller version we southerners face this weekend, winter weather and the potential to loose power, water and vehicular mobility. And God help us, loss of entertainment via electronic devices (almost all made in China).

Most people run to the grocery and hardware stores at the last minute and wonder why they have been cleaned out and claim others are price gouging for essential supplies and emergency equipment.

We can do our part by not giving those supporting this shit an out when the screws start getting tight.

What do I mean? I mean not-helping left-wing neighbors and relatives who voted for this shit when they run out food, durable goods, paper goods, etc. Like predictable socialists, they will be the first to come running to you so that you may share your resources.

I can't put it on people as to how China became so powerful in our lives as consumers. The solution isn't also going to come from the people either.

It's the country's political leaders who allowed this to happened; some of them have even been actually actively enabling and welcoming it.

Thinking the country can get out from under China just from a people movement is like thinking an NFL team can get to the superbowl just from its players despite its head coach and coaching staff working against the team.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I think it was more likely just taking an example that came to mind, rather than a cheap shot at you, particularly. At least that's the way I read it.

But it's still not entirely accurate. Nobody said they wanted cheap LED shop lights. Just LED shop lights.

Personally, I don't want "cheap" anything. I want the most economical solution that is a quality product, works well, and lasts. That rarely equates with "cheap."

The problem is: There are so few products one can acquire these days that aren't Made in China. E.g.: Somebody recently asked about laser dry-fire products. One highly-recommended product is G-Sight. I bought some. They are indeed very high quality. (And their customer service is top-notch, too.) But, while an American company, it turns out their products are made in China. (Or so claims the Amazon Q&A section.)

Then there are times the American alternative is no alternative. An example I've cited before is red-dot sights. Specifically: Trijicon. I tried so hard to go with Trijicon. Not only an American company, but a Michigan company. One so close I could almost hit them with a rock. Long story short: They made their product unsuitable for me. So I eventually gave in and bought HoloSun optics Frown

Surveillance cameras. Just try to buy a non-Chinesium surveillance camera. I dare you.

So what I'm doing now is adopting the attitude that, if Chinesium is the only thing available or affordable, and I merely want it, but don't necessarily need it: I simply do without.

The aforementioned security cams are a case in point. I'd like to add a couple more, but I don't need to, so I'm not buying any at all unless one of the existing ones dies.

Another item that you don't see much written about, Cloud data storage and data from devices that rely on the internet to store data.

There are servers out there somewhere and it's not that easy to find out where your data is, where the actual physical hardware is located.

One thing you can count on, much of it is overseas, whatever that means.

So if you were going to take over a country isn’t this exactly how you would do it? Start teaching its youth that communism is good, capitalism is evil. Make a country think it’s a great idea to move all of it’s vital manufacturing over to your country. Get those in government to believe you will do no harm to them. Get the media and big tech to not go against your country and attack nationalism. Weaken it further by slipping in a virus. Purge and separate those dissenting lock downs, mask and vaccine mandates from society, by taking their income away, by getting them out of the government, military, Law Enforcement then pull products that effect every day life of its citizens. Get the government to create a domestic terrorists task force to attack and take out dissenters. Then create shortages that further weaken the economy and military. China has purchased a lot of our meat packing companies, so they control our meat supply. I can go on for a very long time listing what they have taken over. Until we get into power representatives in government with enough balls and intelligence we will continue to go down this road to communism.

They have defeated us from within in reality, as they said they would.

Who is going to work in theoretical new US factories? We can't get people to work period. Not if we continue to pay them not to work. It's all part of the big picture, the grand plan and it worked quite well.
