While the G63 is pretty amazing, what's really amazing is I have not had any medical appointments the last 3 weeks and won't have any whatoever until December.

In the last 9 years, medical appointments happened on a weekly basis.

Incredible.

I've driven my buddy's wife's SL63 which has the same motor and that sound is incredible (especially with the top down).

The AMG G-Class has side pipes, so I'd bet it's a bit louder than the SL
Even the non-AMG G-class is a noisy truck.

Best goes to the SLR though. Side pipes, 5.5; V8 with a big supercharger on it. Whine plus rumble. One of the best stock cars I've heard in person.

If one wants to sneak out of the garage late at night, a G63 might not be the best choice.

I'm baaack.

Got the new improved pacemaker last Tuesday, a 3 hour operation while they kept me awake the whole time.
Lots of lidocaine and a bit of ketamine but still quite painful.
The doctor said said some patients thrash around so as a precaution, my hands were tied to the table.
Ugh, I felt all the slicing and dicing like hot matches on the surgical area. But I got through it.

Plus, I've had a lung cancer scare since July when a dark spot was seen on a CT scan.

However, the night before the scan, I was eating crunchy bacon and I inhaled a small bit of it into my left lung. Sure enough it showed on the scan and they thought lung cancer.

6 weeks later, another scan showed it had cleared up but a new spot appeared on the right lung.
It too cleared up with the scan last Monday this week.

Ha! Bacon looked like lung cancer on a CT scan. And even if that wasn't it, it makes for a good story.

So it's been kid of weird the last few months but the Lord seems to be very active in my life a lot the last few months. All praise to Him!

I have to say the 2026 AMG G63 is such an amazing vehicle with the new hydraulic suspension without sway bars. It handles incredibly well.
It's the finest vehicle I have owned and I love driving it.

Great to see you back. Glad to hear the CT scans cleared up and you are doing good with the pacemaker. Is it common to keep you conscious during that procedure?? That sounds like a bad movie. Thrash around? I would do more than that if I had to be awake and feeling what they were doing.

Glad your through it and glad to see you post again. Enjoy your awesome truck. I have it’s cousin. I got an Ineos Grenadier couple years ago. Have only put 8k on it, but smile like a kid on Christmas morning every time I climb in. Sure you do the same with the G63.

Have fun and enjoy your truck, and driving your family around. Life is Good, and you deserve to enjoy every second of it.

Great to hear from you lbj! You are a real trouper that easily exceeds the majority of all troupers on this planet.

If you (or others in the medical field) have the time and inclination to share info about "the new improved pacemaker", I am very curious and would be appreciative of feedback on various types of these devices. My Mom, at age 78, had her first pacemaker installed on Wednesday, and was released to go home yesterday. This occurred after a week of being monitored and transported between three different hospitals, subsequent to heart ablation surgery a couple months ago that did not do the trick for AFIB.

Again, I am so glad you still have the ability to enjoy the fruits of all your years of labor and living up to the responsibility of providing for your family. I know it has not been easy.
