lbj, I'm not really a religious guy, but I said a little prayer for you, and will keep you in my thoughts. Keep fighting, many people are pulling for you.

I thought to post a weekly update.

My sister came to town last week to visit me.
It was great.
Don't tell anybody or her either, but lbj does love his sister.
Shocking huh?

We went out to Pawnee Grassland and shot a Sphinx AT2000P, a 1962 Ruger Standard and an AR10.
I brought enough 308 ammunition that everyone's shoulders were properly brusied.

My taste is back which helps and the best part right now is I will have taste when the family vacation begins soon.
I was worried about that.

I mean, roller coasters are not my thing, but I booked this trip to Cedar Point for all my girls.
I really do not have the energy and stamina to walk around a 350 acre park in the hot sun, so mostly, I will be in the hotel or at the beach... or something.
But once the girls are done for the day at the park, there's family dinner time.
And I get to participate and actually eat and taste.
It's going to be great.

Plus I think the girls, wife included, will get a fine memory of our outing.
We all need that, right?

Some have seen this in a different thread I started, but I post this picture again.
Nothing spells loving like something from the oven, and I used my culinary skills to find a way to keep the bolt open on my old Ruger Standard childhood gun so I could clean the breech face.
I am kind of thin at 163lbs, and have a skin condition which doesn't show. I suppose if you all really want to see my rash...
Also, you can see some of the white hair the Votrient caused.
But overall, I still see the same old sexy me.
That's not like narcissistic or anything. Can't be.
Not bad for 61, take a look.

No, no, no....It's not easy being me !!!

If you ask my two youngest daughters (ages 18 & 14), I'm the one who needs a neck lift!!
I tell them it's because I've helped raise six kids...and stayed married to their mother for almost 31 years. Eek

Oh, and I'm guessing black, just because... Big Grin

My Mom has a bunch of those for icing cakes. She dont have a Ruger .22 to go with them.

I told a crazy story here once lbj about meeting Bill Gates in a Dollar Store. Back before Para said dont be posting things that aren't true.. Big Grin Mr. Gates was buying a spatula for Mrs. Gates, there were Ninjas involved, swinging Uzis and, I ended up with a special 1 of a kind chip, injected into my head. There after I was on line 24/7 and got all manner of updates from Windows. Dont know why noone here believed me.. Big Grin

I hear people pay good money for used thongs. I'm not a buyer or seller, I've just heard of such things. Wink

Situation awareness is defined as a continuous extraction of environmental information, integration of this information with previous knowledge to form a coherent mental picture in directing further perception and anticipating future events. Simply put, situational awareness mean knowing what is going on around you.

Oh geez, just what gets into me sometimes?

After a many year hiatus from shooting, I am back at it again.
It all started with the need to get a lighter CCW piece because of my physical condition.
That little Keltec P32 also became a lot of fun so I have picked up where I left off.

I would say I have been to the range a dozen times the last 2 months.

I am slowly going through my collection to see which guns are problematic so my brother will know what is what when the time comes for him to inherit the bulk of the collection.
All the FFL tranfer fees are going to be costly.

In the past 60 days, I have shot several of my firearms, and so far, every one of them is in working condition.

Armalite AR10
Colt AR15
2 Sphinx AT2000P(s)
Para Ordnance P14 slimline steel
Para Ordnance P12 alloy
P228
P228 Swiss Police
S&W 3913TSW
P220EL
CBAC 3rd Model Dragoon
1962 Ruger Standard .22

I am having a lot of fun getting back into the swing of things, but I stil have so far to go, there is so much to test.
It's not easy being me, master of my own destiny.

Today, I shot this little gem. I had forgotten How much I liked it.

Now, about that used thong...

Why having to do the FFL transfer? Is this something that Colorado requires, or does he live somewhere else? I would have thought that you could just give him what ever you wanted. A face to face gift to a relative.

I was able to assume ownership of a weapon in a similar situation, and as long as I did not ship it, I was able to bring it home with me.

Thanks, I wondered what generation it was.

I said in another thread that I forgot where and when I bought that 3913TSW, or even why.

After shooting it today, I now remember the why part, it's super light, slim, and functions well.
It's a really nice pistol. The 2 dot rear sights are bright red and the front sight dot is dayglo green.
Mine is a decock only, the lever auto returns to the up position. Maybe all the TSWs do that.

One thing I don't like is the reassembly part.
There are 3 small levers that need to be depressed by hand in order to slide the slide all the way onto the frame. 2 are a breeze, but one takes a small flat screwdriver or the flat side of a key or something similar to depress that one and it takes a lot more pressure to do so that the other 2 do.

Other than that, it's great.

Mexican takeout night tonight.
When I eat Mexican, I go meatless, getting cheese enchiladas, rice and beans.
I always worry about "mystery meat", so I avoid that.

Such applies to any type restaurant, not just Mexican food places.
If I can't tell what it is, I don't eat it.

I am the pickiest eater I have ever known.
