These "protests" have no meaningful focus and all law breaking actions need to be dealt with.

No "let them blow off steam", or whatever excuse the community "leaders" toss out.

Arrest unlawful actions and stop with the catch and release crap.

Letting this "run its course" crap, is going to lead to people getting killed, and a lot of them are people that have no reason to be caught up in this crap. (people eating out, being in public places, etc.)

I am glad I got to visit Seattle, go up in the Space Needle, Duck Boat in 2006. I'm sure the decay had been underway then, at least I saw downtown and most areas untrashed.

Now apparently NYPD shouldn't be allowed to make traffic stops because people could get violent and out of control and thus shot.

Yes, let's not tell people to calm down and stop acting like spoiled children, let's make the police stop enforcing laws. That will be SO much better.

What's not being reported is all the people and businesses leaving the city. Wait until the next budget cycle. Things were bad enough with covid19, now with all the "Protests" it seems to be building to a mass exodus.

Tourism is down and not going to improve with all the so called destination shops etc. closed or moving out.

Not to mention DUI and Hit & Run drivers. And an officer with any kind of experience knows that more felony arrests are made for 'routine' traffic stops than just about any other enforcement action.

The founder of a Black Lives Matter group in Atlanta has been charged with misappropriating donations solicited through Facebook on behalf of the social justice cause.

32 year old Sir Maejor Page has been arrested by the FBI on fraud and money laundering charges after he used $200,000 in BLM donations on "food, dining, entertainment, clothing, furniture, a home security system, tailored suits and accessories," according to Fox News.

He was arrested in Toledo after the Toledo FBI office opened an investigation last year on a tip they received from a cooperating witness. Page founded Black Lives Matter of Greater Atlanta in 2016 and had taken in more than $466,000 in total donations in June, July and August alone.

FBI agent Matthew Desorbo said in the agency's complaint against Page: "In sum, Page has spent over $200,000 on personal items generated from donations received through BLMGA Facebook page with no identifiable purchase or expenditure for social or racial justice."

Page took in the donations "for George Floyd" according to his Facebook page. Instead the money was diverted to things like a home security system (ironic, given the looting and riots), dining and clothing. He also used $112,000 of the money to purchase a house for himself in Toledo, Ohio.

BLM of Greater Atlanta lost its tax exempt status in 2019 for failing to submit its IRS 990 tax returns. Despite this, Page had become a "familiar face" at BLM marches in Atlanta. He was even part of a group that ultimately met with former Atlanta mayor Kasim Reed to demand changes in policing.

I suspect it's going to take a little while to see the fallout of this fully come home to roost, but make no mistake: it's coming. Seattle may very well end up like Detroit, and Buffalo, and so many other big liberal cities that used to be industrious and cultured and are now just a decayed shell of their former glory. The housing market on the East side is going pretty strong, but I think within a few short years, it's going to start going the other way. I've got to get out of here before we wind up upside-down on our house.

Black Lives Matter Leader, Sir Maejor, Arrested for Impersonating An Officer

Atlanta, GA – A prominent, and very vocal, Black Lives Matter leader, Tyree “Sir Maejor” (Tyree Conyers-Page), is back in the news. After spewing hate about the police, police tactics, and systemic racism for months, the reason he is anti-police has become clear.

Jealousy and envy are Tyree’s motives, as he has been arrested multiple times for impersonating a law enforcement officer in the greater Atlanta area. Apparently, Tyree longs to be a police officer and since that has not happened, he now chooses to spread the false narrative of the Black Lives Matter movement.

In late 2014, Atlanta Police found him with a female handcuffed outside a busy gas station. He was wearing a uniform that looked like an Atlanta PD uniform, had a Glock .45 pistol, and full duty belt.

In another incident, on October 14, 2015, Sir Maejor was observed at the MARTA Five Points station, wearing a bulletproof vest with a full duty belt. He also had one loaded Glock .45, two additional loaded magazines, two pairs of handcuffs, OC spray, one baton, a Taser with additional cartridge, and a makeshift ID card designating his duties as a fugitive apprehension officer.

He was not acting like a bounty hunter though. He was harassing and yelling at MARTA patrons, telling them where they could and could not stand. It was when Conyers-Page approached a parked car and demanded the identification of the person inside that his pipedream began to unfold.

Sgt. Knapp, a plain clothes police officer, had been watching Sir Maejor’s strange behavior. Atlanta Police again arrested him for impersonating an officer.

The story does not end here. The police impersonation charges even stretch into this year. Page was arrested in January after he conned his way past security guards at the Sloppy Floyd state office building by claiming he was an FBI agent. Court records say he was carrying a gun. He managed to get into the Secretary of State’s corporate records office.

His vocal nature and bad-mouthing of law enforcement has nothing to do with police brutality or racism or anything that he would like us to believe. The bottom line here is that his jealousy and envy of the officers who do the job every day has led him down a path of lies. His motto seems to be, “If you can’t join them, then beat them.” Sorry Tyree Conyers-Page, the blue line does not need criminals like you.
