I don’t think people that support candidates like Bernie understand that all the free shit will not truly be free. They’ll come to learn that their government provided largesse, however poor and generic it will be, will require hard work to receive.

No more sitting in the basement smoking weed and snowboarding on the weekends on mommy and daddy’s dime. No more partying with the other losers every night. They have only to look at China to see what will be required of them to be rewarded with all the “free stuff”. Of course, they’ll be free to starve themselves to death instead of contributing to the collective. That’s what makes their system so great! Choices!

The Left has never had a problem with that question, as all of its supporters would quickly find out once they achieved the goals they think they want:

“According to Vladimir Lenin, ‘He who does not work shall not eat’ is a necessary principle under socialism, the preliminary phase of the evolution towards communist society. The phrase appears in his 1917 work, The State and Revolution.”

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...neither_shall_he_eat

The same is true of how the leftist in charge at the moment would deal with opposition from leftists who aren’t in charge, but who disagree with the leftist in charge. How leftists act after they take over is one of the most starkly documented processes in human history.

Mostly because gummint will take all mommy and daddy's dimes. To quote Ayn Rand.
It only stands to reason that where there's sacrifice, there's someone collecting the sacrificial offerings. Where there's service, there is someone being served. The man who speaks to you of sacrifice is speaking of slaves and masters, and intends to be the master.

That's never been an issue, they just put the politically safe morons in the producers roles...and then when they fail they go to the gulag.

Saw a movie called "Heart of the dog" years ago and it illustrated the situation well.
