That line isn’t just funny, it’s HILARIOUS! The lead smelter ‘shutter’ is just one of many ‘bubba conspiracy theories’ that are downright ludicrous. He was making a very funny joke.

My family was in the American Revolution, and in concentration camps in a county we had lived in for hundreds of years. There is no villainy, of which I will believe a socialist to be incapable.

In the United States, Civilian Public Service (CPS) provided an alternative to military service during World War II. From 1941 to 1947, 4,665 Mennonites, Amish and Brethren in Christ[39] were among nearly 12,000 conscientious objectors who performed work of national importance in 152 CPS camps throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The draftees worked in areas such as soil conservation, forestry, fire fighting, agriculture, social services and mental health. The CPS men served without wages and with minimal support from the federal government. The cost of maintaining the CPS camps and providing for the needs of the men was the responsibility of their congregations and families. Mennonite Central Committee coordinated the operation of the Mennonite camps. CPS men served longer than regular draftees, not being released until well past the end of the war. Initially skeptical of the program, government agencies learned to appreciate the men's service and requested more workers from the program. CPS made significant contributions to forest fire prevention, erosion and flood control, medical science and reform of the mental health system. Enslaved until 1947.

And that was not a population which emigrated to the US, it is one which the US grew up around... and it’s pretty well the definition of a gulag.

^^^^^^^^ Sounds a tad bit easier than storming the beaches of Normandy, Tarawa, and other things draftees did and died doing.

The Congress in 1950 was serious (HST vetoed it) . During the "Red Scare" days of late 40's, this little gem was voted into law, pushed in part by J. Edgar Hoover. Former Japanese detention camps were to be used... Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/...nternal_Security_Act ********* "Some people are alive today because it's against the law to kill them".

The line about the lead smelters could be equated to the crematorias the nazis used on Jews...that’s what some others were driving at. We'll never have gulags. Just ask the Japanese-Americans incarcerated in WWII for being Japanese. You can spout all you want about checks and balances and such. It CAN happen here, especially if people are afraid. And fear is the left's stock in trade.

The DNC won’t let Bernie near the nomination. It’s going to be Bloomberg and I think it has the potential to be a big win for Trump. Lots of Bernie and even some Warren supporters stay home if they nominate the former Republican and GW Bush supporter. They will not be able to stomach voting for him and the DNC would rather lose to Trump than nominate a Democratic Socialist. Remember, they (DNC) get the majority of their money from Wall Street, too.

Serious question: Do you have to bring your own bowl to a soup line? If you're goin' through hell, keep on going. Don't slow down. If you're scared don't show it. You might get out before the devil even knows you're there. NRA ENDOWMENT LIFE MEMBER
