Did the sauce fall out or is it on it’s way in?

Fixed it for you.
I agree, it's pretty sad when they try to stick their heads out from under the blanket of mediocrity. Don't get me wrong, every once and a while it actually works ( John Travolta, Pulp Fiction), but most of the time it just makes them look like a bigger whore/fool then they already are.

I like what I heard on TV. "You can be an accountant and still be an accountant at age 65. Madonna can't be Madonna at her age.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

There's a few.
Cher, Tina Turner, Roberta Flack, Dion Warwick, Carole King...

The difference they remained graceful while they were relevant. Once they faded off, they accepted it.

It's like seeing the leather faced 55yo at the club prowling for something way younger than their kids to take home.

In her prime, I was waiting at MSP airport on the way to LAX and the plane boarding was delayed for a "VIP" passenger. I was in 1st w/ an empty seat and guess who sat next to me?
She looked like she was utterly worn out looking both physically and mentally. I never said a word to her, she crashed before we even left the runway. This was when she would stop her limo and pick up random young men on the lower east side of Manhattan at 2 am, and drop them off when she was finished with them an hour later in the back of her limo.

She was slipping into irrelevancy when she self-appointed herself the poster girl for Kabbalah. Then 2015-16 POTUS election calendar rolls around and she goes around with a pussy hat and attempts to out-vulgar everyone on-stage. Now this, she thinks she's still an artist, creating who-knows-what and why

Some of the Hollywood actresses aged gracefully. Booze, men, and drugs wreak havoc. Robert Osborne interviewed quite a few. He would show the film when the actress was in her prime and then discuss her role. I am certain that TCM will show them again in the future.

I didn't think she was attractive when she first came out on the music scene and it goes double now.

“For over a thousand years Roman conquerors returning from the wars enjoyed the honor of triumph, a tumultuous parade. In the procession came trumpeteers, musicians and strange animals from conquered territories, together with carts laden with treasure and captured armaments. The conquerors rode in a triumphal chariot, the dazed prisoners walking in chains before him. Sometimes his children robed in white stood with him in the chariot or rode the trace horses. A slave stood behind the conqueror holding a golden crown and whispering in his ear a warning: that all glory is fleeting.”

It’s a shame actually. If she had the right people around her, they could have tailored a path for her that would be near royalty in the music world. Instead she’s become a parody of herself.
