Your Dad certainly is in the age group to remember Groucho Marx. He was quite the victim. Here is a link to the story which is too long to post.

I've been down that road a few times. Sometimes I'll pressure them for sex after a few dinners and then watch them scurry off never to hear from them again.

A few times I was asked for money. Sure, I said, I'll write you a check as a loan to be paid off.
It's funny how they quickly changed their minds.

I have seen men totally destroyed by women who used them.

There was a man in town I knew that was up in years. A younger woman appeared to be playing him. A close friend inquired and he said when she gets $X amount she’s gone!

I don't really have advice, but I would be more worried about the long term where she hooks him good enough for marriage.
Then she gets it all.

Maybe he is a sly experienced wily man out for some fun? Conning the con man, so to speak.

Late on a Friday afternoon an elderly man walked into a jewelry store with a stunning gorgeous and sexy hot young lady at his side.

The man told the jeweler he would like a very special ring to give to his girlfriend.

The jeweler did some searching and then presented the man with a beautiful $5,000 ring.

"I'm not sure you quite understand," the old man said when he saw the item. "I need something more special than that."

The jeweler brought another ring costing $25,000. The old man replied "No, that's not nice enough for my new girlfriend".

The delighted jeweler then went over to his exclusive stock and came back with another ring.

"Here's an exceptional piece for only $85,000" he told the old man.

He saw the young lady's eye widened and her body trembled with excitement.

The old man seemed satisfied. He told the jeweler: "We'll take it."

The jeweler asked how payment would be made.

The old man said he would be paying by check and said "I Know you have to make sure my check is good, so I'll write it out now and you can call the bank on Monday to verify the funds are there. I'll pick the ring up on Monday afternoon," he said. "Does that work for you?"

The jeweler was fine with the arrangement.

On Monday morning, a very disgruntled jeweler called up the old man and told him, "There's no money in the account!"

The old man responded, "I know, but can you imagine the weekend I just had?"

nhraracecraft nailed it. Start digging into her life and background. The info you find out may allow you to get a restraining order blocking her contact with your SD.
This aint her first rodeo and she may have a related criminal record or have a warrant out for her.

Wow, I just read through this whole thread.
Sorry for those if you with a parent that was taken advantage of.
Yes, men are stupid when it comes to women, especially ones that are DTF (down to fuck).

This is terrible advice, but I second the advice to take him to somewhere like Amsterdam, send him to the Red Light District with a few hundred and have him sample the goods for a week. He’ll be more worried about moving there than entertaining the 58 year old woman.

Would he allow you some level of oversight on his account? Such as no withdrawals or loans over $5k without dual signatures.

I just got off the phone with him. He insists they are still just friends, but let it slip that he will be making the payments for her lease of a new vehicle.

I very carefully asked him some more questions, and his heart is already gone. He says that when he agreed to make the payments for the car that he told her it was, "with no strings attached." I don't think he realized it is her that is pulling, "the strings."

They can't have sex outside of marriage. He was ordained about a decade after me. His religious commitments won't allow it. So sex is not being used by either of them for control at this point.

Women do not need sex to manipulate an older man. The flattery of attention from a younger woman is enough of a control measure.

No, AZSigs, he has no idea at this point that he is being played.

YS and nhrarc, digging into her past is probably where I should begin.

Russ, he is very independently minded, and would not allow any joint control of his accounts. I have to respect that.

Sad. Very sad.

You should have seen the widows swarm around my Dad every Sunday at church after Mom died. He was having none of it and it fairly quickly died down but we still proceeded to protect his funds with help of his financial adviser.
