This story should be interesting to follow.

I wonder if she just got off of a 16 hour shift , or something ?

Basically. She claims to have gotten off a 15-hour shift, to have parked on the wrong floor in the parking deck, and walked to her apartment, put the key in the door, and then realized it was ajar, before entering to see an intruder. Instead of her apartment, though, it was the guy's above hers.

There are lots of points in her statement to the Texas Rangers that would seem to be very coincidental, but hopefully they'll be able to investigate this one and get to the truth.

It hasn't been reported yet, at least anywhere I've seen, but did she live with someone? If the eye witness accounts are accurate, who would she be yelling to "Open up" to?

If she lived with someone and her key didn't work and she banged on the door yelling "open up" and this guy opened the door then I could more believe her story.

This could happen to anyone really. Long day (supposedly), maybe fatigue and definitely confusion. But would it be getting national airplay if she wasn't a cop and he wasn't black? Sounds to me like a tragic accident, which I have to say if she is at fault then she deserves to face justice as any of us would. And of course that race-baiting publicity hound Ben Crump found his way into this and claims black people aren't even safe in their own homes now. As if there is some concerted effort to hunt down and kill them for sport. Hate that guy!

Unintentional tragic accident or not, she is supposed to be trained not to do that.

Manslaughter at a minimum or they will burn that city.

I heard some journalistic hack on TV last night make the statement, "I wonder what the outcome would have been different had the person in the apartment been white."

WTF?

A black cops arrives at, what she believed to be her apartment, and finds the door ajar...

White, Black, Asian, Hispanic? Would the outcome really be any different???

This morning it was being reported that she parked on the 4th level, but that that doesn't lead to the 4th floor of apartments, which could create confusion, especially if you're tired.

Sadly, they have to make a race issue out of it Roll Eyes but in reality she does need to be held accountable, IMO.

She was in no danger from Jean, so there was zero reason to fire. She was not investigating a reported crime, there was nothing that would make her believe she was about to be attacked.

Judging by the apparent witness statements, she is lying. When that comes out, I hope the jury realizes she is just another self absorbed liar. Ideally she would get more than manslaughter.

If she is guilty of more then her statement then hang her out to dry. However I’d be cautious listening to eyewitness statements in Dallas especially in a racially charged case. Finally after having been in a couple of these weird apartments it is very easy to see how you could end up at the wrong floor. I bet this is a tragic accident that she should have prevented. However it’s now a racial issue and good luck getting an impartial jury in the big D with all the noise being made by activists and politicians.

DPD is running 600+ officers short so long hours and OT is the norm these days, it was all over the news up until this incident.

Wonder what her work history is like. I'm sure that will all come out very soon.

Wonder if she's an EO hire.

If she couldn't find her own apartment, driving home must have been a challenge.

All over our news starting this past weekend. Dumb bitch. Completely unnecessary. She will go down hard for it too. It’s an upscale apartment complex not the hood. No excuses for this.

This is very similar to the Minneapolis case. Officer fired without a valid reason, killed a perfectly innocent person.
This does make one think she was hired for diversity. Hopefully her training records come out.

If Dallas PD is 600 officers short, the city will find that it is cheaper to pay more for officers than to pay out 15 million in a settlement.

No this couldn’t happen to anybody. Being tired and confused doesn’t lead to gunning someone down in their own house. Frickin incompetent killer is what she is.

She (the cop/shooter) was white, not black.
