I am not huge on the styling. The double cab looks horrendous with weird proportions
The CrewMax with the 6.5’ bed looks the best.
There are tons of stupid technology in this thing and glad to see that nearly all of it is optional.

My 2014 Tundra is just right. I don’t really care for all the fancy tech.

I want 4wd, backup camera, and a true limited slip differential.
So if one could get an SR with very little options and the e locker since a true LSD is not available. I’d be up for that.
Swap the steel wheels and do a leveling kit like I have now.
Not to up on the multi link suspension in the rear so would have to read a bit about it.

At least they did not screw this up as bad as they did the Supra.

Yeah, the BMW Supra isn't a great step from the MkIV.

Maybe the new Nissan Z will get GR/Toyota to bring a manual for a mid cycle refresh/update.

Would probably still lean toward the Z, were I in the market. Think it looks leaps & bounds better than the MkV Supra.

I'm gonna wait until I see one in person to make up my mind about the exterior but I'm not liking it so far. The interior is worse, it looks cheap and that obtrusive big screen tv is awful. It looks like an afterthought.
The 2022 Chevy Silverado is getting a new interior and it looks so much better. Its display looks like a seamless part of the dash.

Actually it's one of the things I like the most in my F-150. I've got a button on it to toggle through the various drive modes. There's also a plus and minus button to drive it in, "Manual Mode". The plus and minus buttons also work to progressively lock out higher gears which is a great feature in mountain and off-road driving.

Yep, I liked the console shifter in my 16 F150.
On the Fords, it can be converted to column shift if one desired, at least on the 15-17 when I was active on the F150 forum.

No allegiance either way for me. I've had C/F trucks in the past & have family with Toyota. For me, its whoever has what suits me best at purchase

I drive an old 2001 Ford F150 as a daily driver. You catch any of my recent posts on my disdain with current Ford offerings? I look for quality and value regardless what emblem is in the grill.

No V8
LOTS of plastic, edges and gadget knobs in the 1984 styled interior not to mention the skinny armrests.
Low back front seats
Reservoir shocks mounted below the axles just waiting to get smashed.
And the ugliest front grill in the industry

Sorry. LOL. Toyota fans, you’ve waited ten years for this “update” and you’ve been doped.

Most people buy a vehicle for 1. Image 2. Some capability it has, that they want to use/for, but never will.

So back to #1, manus will keep going over the top to bolder and bolder “look at me” designs.

I hate this iPad screen shit they are all doing now. It’s infuriating. But that’s what the herd wants and buys so they’ll keep doing it.

I hate it too, and I'm not certain it's what the herd wants. I think it's what makes it easier for manufacturers to "program in" (or out) certain features without having to make massive hardware changes. New feature? Update the firmware (either voluntarily by way of the dealer or (ugh) involuntarily by way of satellite/cellular connection) and carry on. The hardware of the user interface (the small TV grafted onto the dash) doesn't have to change, just the programming behind it.

But that's just a slightly-educated guess on my part.

I'm not a fan of giant touch-screens stuck on the dash like -- as many have said -- an afterthought. It's just plain ugly, no matter how big and fancy it is.

I think it will be a good truck.

I have a 2014 that has had zero problems as well as 2 other Toyotas in the household so I am a fan of the quality.

I was hoping it had different styling (looks like a GMC to me) but I think it will look great in person.

As far as the engine choices, I am pleased. The twin turbo has been proven in the Lexus LS500 and Toyota has the best hybrid technology on the market.

I am hoping for a 6.5 foot bed and a large crew cab option.

I will be curious to see what the mileage, pricing, and availability will be...

Fortunately the big old thing is only an option. The standard unit looks much better.

I worry about the long- term reliability of a turbo on a V6 pulling a trailer in the Rocky Mountains. I know they claim the hybrid motor will reach maximum torque at around 2400 RPM but I still wonder. I'm going to wait and see how it and the new Ford 7.3 do and then purchase one or the other around the start of 2023 - giving then each a year or two to settle in.

My mom's been pulling a horse trailer with sleeping quarters with a 2011 EcoBoost F150 since new. Trouble free.

Hope the new Tundra V6TT does well too.

Not a fan of the new Tundra. Not much of an upgrade in styling after all these years on the old platform. Seems like they gave it to the summer interns to work out.
