Lots of them. This weekend is the 50th anniversary for the Jambalaya Festival just down the road. Just off the top of my head there are the Crawfish Festival, Italian Festival, Frog Festival, Shrimp Festival, etc., etc., etc.

Every weekend from April through September. And then some more after that. The official beginning is the Atlanta Dogwood Festival and the big finale, Chomp and Stomp, is early November.

Marquette has numerous festivals and events, starting Memorial Day. Lots of bike (pedal) races too.
Gotta suck in the tourist buck!

Nearby Erwin, TN had a strawberry festival recently, and I've heard of others but can't recall specifics. Back in California, Kingsburg (small town ~20 miles south of Fresno) has a watermelon and Gilroy has a garlic.

The Bell Buckle Cafe is awesome!

And so is the Ice Cream Shop around the corner:

There are several in the hill country, most prominently Wurstfest in New Braunfels in November which draws enormous crowds in a ten day run.

Luckily, I have enough willpower to control the driving ambition that rages within me.

When you had the votes, we did things your way. Now, we have the votes and you will be doing things our way. This lesson in political reality from Lyndon B. Johnson

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." - Justice Janice Rogers Brown

- Riverbank Wine & Cheese Festival
- Stockton Asparigus Festival

Lots of food festivals in the Carolinas.

Aside from the usual BBQ, sea food, Greek, and peach festivals, you can attend:

The Okra Strut in Irmo, SC

Chitlin Strut in Salley, SC.

The World Grits Festival in St. George, SC.

NC's Official Liver Mush Festival in Shelby, NC.

There's also a collards festival somewhere in NC.

Crawfish, BBQ, Wine & Art.
