Well, I suppose that's one way of looking at this security breach. I'm more concerned, depending on what specific records the cybercriminals stole, of them releasing member's personal info on the Dark Web...not just member's NRA info, but possibly those who participate in the affiliate programs such as credit cards, life insurance, firearms insurance, etc..

Also, there is always the possibility that they may have obtained info that may be sensitive to operations or possibly even info that may further damage the NRA's reputation.

I'm all for some leadership changes and the reorganiztion, but I'm not looking to take down the NRA or damage its reputation or impede its ability to function or defend 2A. This will also force the NRA to shift some focus and resources on reassessing their cyber security.

I'm also not real keen on membership dues being paid out to Russian cybercriminals...although I suppose the ransom could affect the NRA bottom line and support their case for reorganization.

Is this going to increase or decrease the number of fund raising letters and emails I get?

Reorganization would be better, faster and cheaper than paying ransom given that it's gotta happen anyway. I think of it as a rare but potentially convenient confluence of events and no, I don't favor paying a penny of ransom.

I completely agree.
We need the NRA because we need a strong organization to represent our freedom, the 2nd amendment in particular.
However, the present day NRA, like so many entities in America, has become a corrupt organization run for the benefit of a few at the top.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
-- Justice Janice Rogers Brown

"The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth."

You'll get about the same number, but the postmarks on the letters and the IP addresses on the emails will all be from Russia: Национальная стрелковая ассоциация

I have a couple of jokes in poor taste that I didn't type out.

Suffice it to say, the NRA received my last dime prior to the back in 18. Their silence in VA's jan 20 rally, and then trying to Co-opt it for themselves solidified that I will not support them until wayne is gone, and all his cronies are gone also.
