Distrust of corporate executives, you say? How about that, mister "I made $32 million last year?" (link)
Some people ought to just sit down and be quiet. I believe Mr. Kirby is one of them. How about we play "let's cut taxpayer-funded government waste" instead of "let's take more money from taxpayers and continue wasting it?" Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around. — — — — — — — — — — — — God bless America.

| If you see me running try to keep up |
People are quick to espouse how all of our problems will be solved by taking money from the ultra rich. Anyone can theoretically become rich or ultra rich but it will not come easy. It is much easier to try and take it from the rich instead of working for it. People should be asking why our government cannot function with all the tax money they already have. Why do they need more?

If Kirby wants to be taken seriously he should lead by example …

Kirby was one of the worst during Covid by mandating the jabs and firing employees who asked for religious or other exemptions. He's an example of the wrong kind of person who attains a position of power and wealth. I haven't figured out his angle though on promoting a wealth tax. These very wealthy people who say they like some form of wealth tax or mandated salary cap never voluntarily reduce their own compensation to something like $150k and then increase the pay and benefits of employees with the millions they've given up. Furthermore, he should be smart enough to know that "wealth inequality" exists in every system, even the socialist or communist societies. Strong centralized taxation distributes wealth to the politically favored and powerful.

He certainly doesn't need to wait for a change in the inheritance laws. Start giving YOUR money away right now, voluntarily to the gov't as a donation on his tax return. It's stunning that someone who has climbed so high on the corporate ladder can be blind to his own hypocrisy, although perhaps not really surprising. It also takes an incredible amount of ego and hubris to rise that high.

I make it a point to not fly United, even when I can fly direct with United ONLY and no one else, i'll just connect. I fly a bunch, top tier with American and mid tier with Delta, I'm NOT flying United. With that said, I'll never understand rich fucking assholes pontificating about wealth re-distribution. Even if they're dumb enough to believe in it, I'm not dumb enough to believe they'd be willing to do it. NRA Life Member Steak: Rare. Coffee: Black. Bourbon: Neat.

Hypocrisy. I guess I am just a simpleton, but I don’t understand how the CEO of a major airline publicly promotes two diametrically disparate thoughts and retains his position. Not just somewhat different, but from my wheelhouse on opposite ends of the damn spectrum… In summary, (1) “wealth inequality” bad so a national tax to preclude citizens from moving to different states and avail themselves of choice is the solution. Oh and throw in 100% inheritance tax because “I would pay for it”… juxtaposed with (2) capitalism is good on his airplanes because charging passengers for the services and products they…uhm, checks notes…choose allows airlines to serve customers with different preferences. This simple bifurcation in logic is further compounded by a “news article” that fails to address what I see as an obvious disconnect. Notwithstanding business practices rife with extreme exaggerations of foundational principles that are more closely aligned with aspects of cronyism, fraud, and outright corruption, reporters wouldn’t understand facts and integrity versus dogma if it slapped them upside the head. After all I am most assuredly not the sharpest tool in the shed but a damn commercial airplane is the perfect example of “wealth inequality”…First Class, Business Class, Economy Plus, and you know Back of the Bus… Finally, why does a corporate board condone such societal or political commentary by their CEO? Seems to me this only makes it more challenging to focus on you know, running a freaking airline… Things like this make me both extremely angry AND very appreciative to be retired to the woods in the middle of nowhere. France and Europe are burning and we seem to have embraced a national penchant furthering an inability to tell the truth about anything. Navy BMD: When "Aim High" isn't High Enough!

He's a leftist. He thinks he will remain at the top of the food chain when the commies take over. But first, they have to destroy western civilization. He's a useful idiot. "Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible." -- Justice Janice Rogers Brown "The United States government is the largest criminal enterprise on earth." -rduckwor

United got five billion dollars from the government during Covid. Not a loan, a “gimme”. And where did that come from? The taxpayers…… That’s some bullshit. -------------------------------------—————— ————————--Ignorance is a powerful tool if applied at the right time, even, usually, surpassing knowledge(E.J.Potter, A.K.A. There’s no way that anyone who has amassed even a million dollars is dumb enough to believe giving the government even more money is going to do anything other than enriching a politician.

This is utter and absolute nonsense, and only the most weak minded, gullible and stupid people believe it. This CEO doesn’t believe a word of it. It’s all a virtue signaling act. This guy doesn’t give a rats ass about income inequality. No one's life, liberty or property is safe while the legislature is in session.- Mark Twain
