Smarter than the average bear |
I just saw this email from Bereli for the Kershaw Leek 1660, great knife, 3" blade, assisted opening, U.S. made, for $39.99, with free shipping. $52 on Amazon, but I've seen it for $50 elsewhere, but not with free shipping. This is one of my favorite knives for a small utility pocket knife. https://www.bereli.com/kershaw...YEmeCLrwdo%3D.PcfdLm

My Rat II is getting a bit sloppy, this looks like a great alternative for essentially the same knife.

I googled your Rat 2, and I'm pretty sure this Leek is smaller overall, and with a much thinner handle. I do think the Leek is a better made knife, and U.S. origin, but if you have large hands or just want more to hold onto you may not be happy with the Leek.

Good observations. They both have a 3" blade, all else looks close enough for me. I don't use a pocket knife for anything too serious, have a sheath knife for that. Hence, more $$ to fine tune a fit isn't worth it. YMMVThis message has been edited. Last edited by: sse,

I bought 2, the thin Leek has always made it my favorite EDC knife. And since my latest one has a bent tip I went ahead and bought 2 10 years to retirement! Just waiting!

Best EDC simple knife there is. I have the matte black and the rainbow models. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

I've asked myself that question often, and yet I have so many Leeks, I've lost count... at least two dozen.
