Can BiBi have his guys take care of this asshole? Make it look like an accident. They are pretty good at that kind of thing.

None of his housing silliness will pass legal muster in the courts. Socialist rent control should not exist. It already distorts the market by letting some people have rent way below market value, while others pay a lot more to cover the difference. There are estimates of 50,000 rent controlled units not rented in NYC because it is not cost effective. I'm not sure why it hasn't been challenged in court. Probably because some wealthy and influential people have rent controlled apartments they don't want to lose. Just like rich gun collectors aren't challenging NFA about machine guns because if it is overturned, their investment drops in value. But maybe now it will be challenged because it will affect every property owner.

Commie nuts see rent generating profits as some evil capitalist scheme. In most cases, rent covers the mortgage and expenses on the building, with a reasonable profit margin. Not a huge margin but acceptable. No city can do it more efficiently than private owners because the cost of government inefficiency is much higher than the profit margin landlords make.

And if the building is "paid off" any investor with any sense will mortgage it, and use the money to expand their business, or pay for renovations. This is how almost all businesses work. Even manufacturers sell equipment and lease it back to free up capital for other purposes.

The high rise housing projects of the 60's that are now mostly being torn down were a disaster proving the cities cannot manage properties. Free housing does not get taken care of well by the tenants and maintenance becomes a nightmare.

Lets see who files a lawsuit first...

12% of the population of the City of New York is Jewish. Although the total property ownership is difficult to calculate, apparently $2.5 Billion in NYC Property is owned by Hasidic Jews. Of the top 20 biggest landlords, the top 5 are all Jewish. A significant number of business are Jewish owned (difficult to gain clear numbers)

Muslims make up around 9% of the population and there are 95,000 small businesses employing 250K people.

Mandami needs to be way more careful than he is at the moment.

Being from Chicago, and not New York City, maybe I missed something…

Here, on Chicago, we bitched and moaned about that troll Lightfoot.
Incompetent
Vindictive
Ignorant
Out of touch
Leftist
Progressive

And bla, bla, bla…

We had a chance to make things better around here.
The election was between Paul Vallas and Brandon Johnson.
We had the chance! Seriously, we did!

Chicago pulled the “Hold my beer” move, and voted for yet another MORE progressive, leftist asshole.

But Chicago VOTED for this.
Well, not all of Chicago, but the majority voted for the asshole.
It wasn’t a Coup, there was no revolution. Stupid people turned out more than smart people, they walked into the booth and they casted their vote.

Now I wasn’t there, and I didn’t hear about a revolution in NYC, but I’m not paying that much attention to the news, so maybe I missed something.
NYC Voted.
If 12% of the population there is Jewish, I sure hoped they ALL voted. And voted “the Right Way”.
Apathy is a killer!

Unless there’s some huge conspiracy, massive voter fraud, I guess this Asshole is what New York City wanted.
Now they got it.
Choke on it!

Yes, it’s not fun, because that’s what I gotta deal with until I’m able to get the hell outta Dodge.

As an outsider who only knows what he reads in the NY Post, it appears that:

NY Mayoral politics are theater. The Mayor doesn't run the City as much as entertains it.

The City is a conglomeration of small ethnic enclaves. Corruption and crime have a different ethnic spin in each enclave.

Mamdani combines several ethnic and sectarian groups (Indian, African, Muslim) in one package, which broadened his appeal. But he has already shown he is not ready to work at his new job: too lazy and self-indulgent.

People move out of the City when they've had enough of it. The cops and firemen are already leaving, heading for NJ, Long Island, Florida.

You can drive around the City on I-287 on your way to New England and don't have to stop there if you don't want to.

Last paragraph -

"Weaver (Cea Weaver, Mamdani’s new Director of the Office to Protect Tenants) envisions exactly what Mamdani has prescribed, the end of housing as private property. Homes and apartment buildings will no longer belong to any individual or corporation. They will belong to the state. One presumes this will be only the first step on the road to the state taking control of everything else. Welcome to the revolution."

So if tenants make any small complaint, the city can seize your building. If your a small landlord with a 3 million dollar loan,
whose going to pay the loan? A small landlord wont. The city? I can see a run on the banks.

I completely agree with CPD SIG.
I could care less about NYC and the way they vote, we have plenty of problems here in my back yard, Chicago.
New York city has been voting down hill since Giuliani left office.
They want commies, let them have them, just like here.
You need to let the bottom fall out before people actually begin to understand whats going on.
All the amnesty cities need to be quarantined as far as Fed Gov money because they choose to be lawless, the rest of the country should not participate in there insane mandates.
Let all the illegals flock to these cites because they are "safe". Let the people in those cities wallow in there bad decisions.
Eventually it will be easier to round them up when they are boxed in.
The bottom must drop out before these voters see the light. We only prolong the problems by attempting to save the populace in these areas.

Atlanta is very new into the gov’t operated grocery store deal also. They don’t offer a lot of info with what the city pays, yet.

It’s almost as-if (sarc) Commie-Mamdani and his cohorts and like-minded ilk are intentionally setting about to destroy NYC -

NYC has always been a dem left stronghold, ironically even the fundamentalist Jews voting D overwhelmingly
NYC ( coming from a former NY state resident) has always had a complex in thinking they represent typical American thinking/ values which they certainly do not, and having a “we are the center of the universe “ attitude that has always rubbed me the wrong way.

NYC residents ( the lifestyle, social constructs, housing essentially everything about them and the city) somehow think they are normal Americans. Yet they really are the exception to the rule on these things.

Cea Weaver just said "White people, we're taking your property"

Given that she appears white.... I wonder if she'll be the first to give up that nice home she appears to be in to live equitably in Section 8 in the S. Bronx. Or is that only for all you other white idiots?

I was friendly with the Habitat for Humanity area CEO in a Southern State.

He indicated that the greatest difficulty was teaching the new owners about property maintenance.

How the washer and dryer worked, how to maintain all of the appliances, why garbage needed emptied, floors cleaned, yard mowed and maintained etc.

Home maintenance tasks were subject to periodic inspection to assure the property was maintained in good condition!

It is unfortunate that some people do not have a tradition of keeping their property in good shape.

AAG Harmeet Dhillon Puts the Mamdani Administration on Notice Over Marxist Housing Policies

We've told you quite a bit about Cea Weaver, the housing and tenant advisor for New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani. She's a dangerous communist who wants to abolish private property and hates white people. She said the confiscation of private property and a move to "collective" property ownership will impact white property owners the hardest.

"I think the reality is that, for centuries, we've really treated property as an individualized good and not a collective good, and transitioning to treating it as a collective good and towards a model of shared equity will require that we think about it differently," Weaver said in an undated video. "And it will mean that families, especially white families, but some POC families who are homeowners as well are going to have a different relationship to property than the one we currently have."

But now Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon is putting Weaver on notice: federal housing laws trump Weaver's commie fantasies.
