A last minute provocation from Zelenskyy was expected.

The Ukrainian attack on the Kursk Region highlighted Russias need for a buffer zone and keeping NATO of it's borders.

The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

I suspect Trump and Putin are going to discuss how to best eliminate what's become our mutual problem.

The guy has become predictable. I think when the Ukrainians are tired of war, they’re going to have to forcibly remove him. Hopefully Trump and Putin can figure out something that doesn’t have to involve Russia just grinding Ukraine to dust.

This is just another war of attrition.

Vietnam, Afghanistan, Chechnya.

They just have to keep killing the invaders until the mothers of the soldiers say no more.

This is making everyone nervous because it is on NATO's border.

The problem is Ukraine is running out of men and money before the Russia has given up.

The Vietnam war lasted over 20 years, war in Chechnya took 60 years with a few years break.

From history's standpoint this is just getting started.

Putin gave up absolutely nothing. He didn't even offer to return any of the 20,000 Ukrainian children that Russian soldiers have abducted. I wasn't surprised. And Putin got something. Once again, President Trump has put off imposing any additional sanctions, despite saying there would be severe sanctions if there was no deal for a cease fire.

Could you give it a little time for crying out loud. Being a Ukranian fan boy is pathetic fed.
I am not rooting for putin but these kinds of things are just not going to vanish in to thin air over a meeting. There is much at stake and enough blame to be spread around and not just to the two main combatants. The previous two demo administrations, the Europeans and others. Can we just give it 30 days to see if this meeting had any impact.

Trump says best way to end Ukraine-Russia war is to secure direct peace deal, not ceasefire

https://justthenews.com/politi..._campaign=newsletter

President Donald Trump said Saturday he believes the best way to end the Russia-Ukraine war is to move to a direct peace deal rather than try to negotiate a temporary ceasefire.

The American president made the comments on his TruthSocial platform hours after meeting Russian president Vladimir Putin in Alaska and then securing a meeting Monday in Washington DC with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"A great and very successful day in Alaska! The meeting with President Vladimir Putin of Russia went very well, as did a late night phone call with President Zelenskyy of Ukraine, and various European Leaders, including the highly respected Secretary General of NATO " Trump wrote.

"It was determined by all that the best way to end the horrific war between Russia and Ukraine is to go directly to a Peace Agreement, which would end the war, and not a mere Ceasefire Agreement, which often times do not hold up," he added. "President Zelenskyy will be coming to D.C., the Oval Office, on Monday afternoon. If all works out, we will then schedule a meeting with President Putin. Potentially, millions of people’s lives will be saved. Thank you for your attention to this matter!

Personally I would not invite little z back to the white house after his little bullshit self on the last visit. That would of been his last visit ever there if I were in charge.
If the President does bring him back JD should be there and front and center and if the little fucker shows any attitude have a couple MP's there to physically throw his ass out. And I and dead serious.

About that ...

If that even happened. It might have, but it reminds me of the initial Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and the stories of Iraqi soldiers invading hospitals and dumping babies out of incubators. That wasn't true, was it?

From a Ukrainian news source:

Trump says he and Putin ‘largely agreed’ on land swaps, security guarantees for Ukraine

https://kyivindependent.com/tr...rantees-for-ukraine/

Following his high-stakes meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Aug. 15 that the two leaders had "largely agreed" on territorial swaps and security guarantees for Ukraine.

"I think those are points that we negotiated, and those are points that we largely have agreed on," Trump said in an interview with Fox News after the meeting.

"I think we're pretty close to a deal," he added. "Ukraine has to agree to it. Maybe they'll say no."

The nearly three-hour meeting concluded without an agreement to end the war in Ukraine, which Trump had sought ahead of the talks.

Ahead of the Alaska meeting, Trump has suggested that any peace deal between Ukraine and Russia would require both sides to "swap" land, a stance that has raised alarm in Kyiv and across European capitals. What exactly is meant by "land swaps" was not specified.

A source in the Ukrainian Presidential Office earlier told the Kyiv Independent that Moscow's proposal would require Kyiv to withdraw from the Ukrainian-controlled parts of the partially occupied Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts in exchange for a Russian pullback from parts of Sumy and Kharkiv oblasts.

Zelensky has firmly rejected the possibility of handing additional Ukrainian territory over to Russian occupation as part of a peace deal, insisting on establishing a ceasefire as the first step in any negotiations.

Asked by Fox News what advice he would give to Zelensky following Alaska talks, Trump responded, "Gotta make a deal."

"Look, Russia is a very big power, and they (Ukraine) are not," Trump said.

Trump set a ceasefire as the target for the meeting, saying while heading to Alaska he was hoping to reach it the same day.

Speaking at the press conference after meeting Putin, Trump said the talks were productive but the two leaders fell short of agreeing on several points, including a significant one.

When asked by Fox News about the obstacle that prevented the two from reaching a deal, Trump refused to give any details.

Since returning to office in January, Trump has pledged to broker a swift peace deal between Kyiv and Moscow — efforts that quickly stalled as Russia repeatedly rejected a ceasefire and pushed maximalist demands during peace talks with Ukraine in Istanbul.

Publicly, Putin has demanded a ban on Ukraine's NATO membership and a full Ukrainian withdrawal from partially occupied Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson, and Zaporizhzhia oblasts, among other conditions.

Russia illegally annexed Ukraine's Crimea in 2014, followed by parts of Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Kherson oblasts in 2022 after holding sham referenda.

Melania Trump Sends Letter to Putin About Abducted Children

President Donald Trump's wife, Melania Trump, raised the plight of children in Ukraine and Russia in a personal letter to Russian President Vladimir Putin, two White House officials said on Friday.

President Trump hand-delivered the letter to Putin during their summit talks in Alaska, the officials told Reuters. Slovenian-born Melania Trump was not on the trip to Alaska.

The officials would not divulge the contents of the letter other than to say it mentioned the abductions of children resulting from the war in Ukraine.

The existence of the letter was not previously reported.

Russia's seizure of Ukrainian children has been a deeply sensitive one for Ukraine.

Ukraine has called the abductions of tens of thousands of its children taken to Russia or Russian-occupied territory without the consent of family or guardians a war crime that meets the U.N. treaty definition of genocide.

Previously Moscow has said it has been protecting vulnerable children from a war zone.

The United Nations Human Rights Office has said Russia has inflicted suffering on millions of Ukrainian children and violated their rights since its full scale invasion of Ukraine begun in 2022.

Trump and Putin met for nearly three hours at a U.S. military base in Anchorage without reaching a ceasefire deal in the war in Ukraine.

This entire conflict could have been resolved had Ukraine surrendered from the outset. Ukraine stole Russian territories in the Donbas that were formerly recognized as Russian by elections and now they are stubbornly refusing to give them back to Russia. If anything there should be sanctions on Ukraine but I strongly suspect that will follow if Zelensky refuses to throw in the towel.

Martha Radditz is a standout in the crowded field of disgusting leftist pukes masquerading as journalists. This is the same woman who cried on the air about Donald Trump on election night, 2016, and this is the same woman who tried to defend South American gangs taking over apartment complexes in Colorado, by telling JD Vance that it was "just a handful". She is way, way past the point of retirement. Disgusting hag.
