A job opportunity has come my way. It'd be a game changer, and it's in a field I've been working in since I was a teenager. I'm fairly confident that if I can get an interview I can get the job, but the truck is getting there.

Fingers crossed that I can pull it off.

Outstanding. Best of luck to you.

I've recently been presented with a similar opportunity, and am working on my application now. It's a bit of a long shot, but that's better than no shot, and I would totally kick himself if I didn't at least try.

Fingers crossed for the both of us.

"It did not really matter what we expected from life, but rather what life expected from us. We needed to stop asking about the meaning of life, and instead to think of ourselves as those who were being questioned by life – daily and hourly. Our answer must consist not in talk and meditation, but in right action and in right conduct. Life ultimately means taking the responsibility to find the right answer to its problems and to fulfill the tasks which it constantly sets for each individual." Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning, 1946.

I'm pulling for you as well.

Now it's a waiting game. Totally rewrote my resume and sent it in Saturday. We'll see where this leads.

I'm not sure yet. My inside source mentioned that they might be trying to transfer from another team first. If that person quits or gets canned before everything goes through they'd be able to hire externally. I don't know who they're trying to send over or what the person's circumstances are but he said it's "very possible" for that to happen.

This is a "right time, right place" sort of thing; they weren't even actually looking for someone yet. Someone's last day was right before I texted about something else and my friend was like, "hol' up, I'll text you after I ask my boss and ask if they're looking to fill that spot."

My guess is that it's going to be a few weeks. I'm keeping my nose to the grindstone where I'm at in the event this doesn't pan out. I assume the worst until I have reason to believe otherwise; it keeps me from getting too disappointed when things don't work out.
