Around Baltimore/Annapolis the spread is 75 cents to $1.00. Since 1997, I always had a diesel pickup. Now, only my big trucks are diesel. The $12,000.00 premium for the engine, the high maintenance costs, and the diesel emissions garbage caused me to buy a gas powered pickup this time.

About 70 cents between them, usually.

Politicians seem to have forgotten that they work for us, not the other way around.

Back when I was working on contract in Barcelona, the client was an auto manufacturer (SEAT). My employer told me not to drive my personally owned Mercedes diesel to the client location; they rented a SEAT for me, for that purpose. I used my own car for everything else.

Fuel prices in Spain at the time:

Regular gas was 40 pesetas / liter.

Diesel was much cheaper, at 16 pesetas / liter.
