Banshee, I have one question for you- are you a citizen of the United States?

I think BansheeOne missed the point of what is really going on. Trump got us out of the TPP, got us out of the BS climate change thing, lowered corporate interest rates, and recognized our true allies, the Isrealis. Now Australia is worried about the affect on their economy and will probably push to lower their corporate tax rate, Germany is worried about the effect on their economy and I would bet that a lot of other European countries are going to start worrying very soon. The Middle East countries are really worried because Trump has opened the doors wide for US energy independence and exports. Even China knows that Trump isn't going to play posturing games with NK and they'll get the refugee fallout if things go tits-up. So their mouthpieces at the UN make some lame statement by having a nonsense vote on a subject that is well within the soveriegn power of the US and Nicky Haley tells them "we'll remember who our true friends are". Then drives the point home by having an event and inviting only those members that backed us up or at stayed neutral. And BansheeOne thinks Trump is trying to "win" votes? Laughable really, Trump is saying "get on board the train or get out of the way because the US is comin through whether you like it or not" Ken S

You've been proven wrong already. The US called for additional sanctions on North Korea and the Security Council approved them on 15-0 vote. http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/22/...esolution/index.html You can go ahead and admit that your opinion was about as accurate as your opinion that Merkel didn't want more immigration into the EU despite the hundreds of speeches she made calling for exactly that. “Facts are stubborn things; and whatever may be our wishes, our inclinations, or the dictates of our passions, they cannot alter the state of facts and evidence.” - John Adams

Yeah, well, I took a look at his posting history. My question is answered- he's not an American citizen. I doubt that he'll be back. I didn't realize he was posting analyses of the German political system. By telling him to stay out of political threads, I've left him nowhere to go in the forum. After all we went through in the disgusting, shameful Obama years, and with how very hard we had to fight to keep Hillary Clinton out of the White House, I am simply not inclined to listen to anyone grousing about President Trump, and that goes double for non-US citizens, and especially those who come from countries whose leaders are destroying Europe- I said destroying Europe. Putting it in my crass and uncouth American terms, I don't give a shit how much Banshee thinks he knows about politics. I will not tolerate foreign criticism of this nation or its current leader. I do not care one wit about how things are done in other fora. I am concerned with SIGforum alone. I have shaped the conversation in this forum for many years. I am a manicurist in a topiary garden, and you, Banshee, are not nearly as special as you seem to think yourself. You have my permission to talk about Angela Merkel and European politics to your heart's delight, but if you choose to stay in this forum, you will refrain from ever again commenting on American politics. Donald Trump was the savior of this nation. That is no exaggeration. He saved us.

Seeing that he's in Berlin, he probably gets all his information from CNN. I recently spent 2 weeks in Singapore, working closely with a German. We got into some really interesting, but respectful discussions and after pointing out many things he didn't know about fake news, he went back to Germany with a different perspective and an open mind towards Trump. Foreigners only know what liberal news outlets want them to know about Trump. Tony. Owner, TonyBen, LLC, Type-07 FFL www.tonybenm14.com (Site under construction). e-mail: tonyben@tonybenm14.com

Germany and France are circling the toilet. They both enbrace anti-semitism as they welcome tenth century savages into their midst. It's quite plain they welcome the destruction of their respective nations. So sad they will give them up with out a fight. So much proud history, all gone. As for the US? We are smart enough (as evidenced by the last election) to fight back. No means no. And I could give a shit less what someone in big Europe thinks.

His English is superb and it seems he's an educated man. He simply happened to walk into a mine field. He could have talked all day long about Merkel and never would I have seen his posts, but he decided to grace us with his opinions on the POTUS, and that's unacceptable.

Hey. Speaking of popcorn, I miss Gov. Haley. She did great popcorn here in SC. She'd let you fill your mouth with it and then light you on fire until it popped in your mouth. ![]() Speaking of German shit posters, Mutti Merkel had an apologist from her CDU party leaving brain droppings in the Trump thread last year. Seems a search of "CDU" brings up a familiar name, but the search may be only posts this year. I appreciate the insight about the German political sausage system, but please, walk away from our Trump. Germany will be selling itself for scrap to Poland and Ukraine in 15 years when the Syrian and Turk "dreamers" finish wrecking the free shit system. They don't think it be like it is, but it do.

Aussie Treasurer Scott Morrison has said just that ... there is a link to investment, corporate tax and wages after all. The Aussie effective tax rate (with concessions and practices) is 17%; nonetheless, a proportion of investments, like mining and energy, will go to the US. How much? Estimated at $5 billion. Can't ignore the impact of the US tax cuts! We are all born ignorant, but one must work hard to remain stupid." ~ Benjamin Franklin. Dear UN: Nikki Haley Does Not Issue Empty Threats December 22, 2017 by David Blackmon 3 Comments Today’s Campaign Update (Because The Campaign Never Ends) So, the PapaJohn’s guy, John Schnatter, has been dumped. – Ok, well, that’s an over-statement, but if you listened to the initial reports on the matter from the fake news media, that’s what you would believe. Further, you’d believe Mr. Schnatter had been fired by the company he founded because he spoke out against the NFL’s failure to control its players. What in fact happened was what happens at many, many companies when a CEO reaches a certain age – he is just stepping out of the very active role of CEO, but will remain as the company’s Chairman of the Board. Horrors. As the motley collection of grifters, miscreants, perverts and thieves that make up the membership of the UN Assembly prepared to take a meaningless vote (because that’s what the UN General Assembly does) condemning the recent announcement by President Donald Trump that the U.S. would be moving its embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, totally badass U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley appeared to take it all personally. After correctly noting that the U.S. pays a disproportionate share of the costs incurred by the worthless international organization, she noted that the members of the UN should not expect the U.S. to continue its historic habit of “paying for the privilege of being disrespected. We have an obligation to demand more for our investment. And if our investment fails, we have an obligation to spend our investment in more productive ways.” Haley also noted that she and President Trump would be paying very close attention to which nations chose to vote in favor of this cowardly resolution, and implied there would be consequences for doing so. “The United States will remember this day in which it was singled out for attack in the General Assembly for the very act of exercising our right as a sovereign nation,” she said. “We will remember it when we are called upon to once again make the world’s largest contribution to the United Nations. And we will remember when so many countries come calling on us, as they so often do, to pay even more and to use our influence for their benefit.” Despite Haley’s warning, the final vote on the resolution was 128 for, 9 opposed, and 56 other countries either abstaining or choosing to be absent when the vote took place. This outcome was actually a severe disappointment to the terrorists who represent Palestine at the UN, because in years past, most if not all of those 56 countries would have most likely voted in favor. So Haley’s warning had a definite impact. Over the past 29 years, whenever any U.S. ambassador to the UN used tough talk to lecture that body’s membership over some similar show of disrespect, other countries could just dismiss it all out of hand, assuming it was just another meaningless threat that would see no follow-through from the U.S. government. That was a safe assumption, given that that always turned out to be the case. But, as Haley noted yesterday, that assumption is no longer safe to make. Donald Trump is a different kind of U.S. president – surely, even the most daft nitwit among the general assembly’s membership has figured that out by now – one who actually listens to what his supporters think and cares about keeping his promises to them. Just as importantly, Nikki Haley is a different kind of U.S. Ambassador to the UN. More than any other since the great Jeanne Kirkpatrick spoke for Ronald Reagan 30 years ago, Haley speaks directly for President Trump. She does not utter platitudes and sophistries meant to appease the global community, which has been our country’s habit since 1989, nor is she in the habit of issuing meaningless threats. Donald Trump looks at relationships with these other countries in the same way he looked at relationships with contractors in the business world. True to his counter-punching nature, whenever a contractor treated him badly in a deal, there was a heavy price to be paid the next time they came looking for his business. By the same token, you can bet that the next time any of those 128 countries comes to the U.S. looking for additional aid, there will be a heavy price to be paid for yesterday’s vote. And when it comes time for dues to be renewed with the UN, we will likely see a very intense renegotiation over what the United States is willing to pay “for the privilege of being disrespected” any further. Nikki Haley didn’t make those statements yesterday for no reason. Bet on it. Just another day in This is What Leadership Looks Like America. That is all. http://dbdailyupdate.com/index...issue-empty-threats/

I've quoted this for the benefit of people like Banshee. I get the impression Banshee feels as if he is so much wiser than anyone around here when it comes to politics, and we Americans who support the brash POTUS are merely uneducated, slack-jawed yokels. The vote was meaningless, yes, but what Banshee and his ilk are missing is that President Trump used this posturing by the UN thugs to make a very large point: We are a mighty nation and we have had enough of the UN's stupid shit. We support Israel and we are fully aware that most of the UN council hates Israel, and this only strengthens our resolve. All UN member nations are now on notice that the United States will no longer just take the abuse. And that, Banshee, et al, is how President Trump turned this "meaningless" vote into a perfect opportunity to let the slime in the UN know that they are screwing with the wrong people. But, hey, what do we know? We're only the people responsible for putting Donald Trump in office , thereby keeping Hillary Clinton out of office, so what do we know? We're nothing more than unsophisticated halfwits in fly-over country. How can we possibly even presume to hold an opinion on these oh so complex matters? ____________________________________________________ "I am your retribution." - Donald Trump, speech at CPAC, March 4, 2023
