"Why would she touch mine?" my friend replied. "She has her own."

End of that conversation!

Gee, thanks. Roll Eyes

Look, thankfully my family doesn't fall under the purview of Seattle city proper and so this doesn't apply to me. But realize there are 2A-friendly, law-abiding folks that do live where this is going into effect who would probably like to know exactly how they "deserve what they get" with this situation.

I'm fully in favor of telling "progressives" to shove it up their ass, sideways if need-be, but I'm not about to go telling them to shove it up everyone else's ass sideways also just because of proximity. Easy with that shit, friend.

I understand there are bad versions of storage laws, no doubt, but I’m talking in a general sense. Do most of you store your guns in a safe or a secure gun-room?
If not, why not?

Is the politician's goal to increase safety of it's citizens? Or is the politicians goal to increase their power over guns and gun owners? Politicians often serve themselves under the guise of serving the people.

I am on my phone and can't easily read the opinion, but I seem to recall that part of the Heller decision was that DC's requirement that guns be locked up was unconstitutional because it frustrates the ability to use them in self defense.

Am I remembering that case incorrectly?

Ooooooooohhhhhh, a CIVIL infraction. The cops will write one ticket per every 10 years on this.

More communist idiots that are really addressing the problem. The do something crowd. Fuck off idiots.

I have small kids and I lock up my guns because its prudent to do so, I love them, and I sure would hate for one of them to play with a loaded gun and kill someone. BUT, if I didn't have kids in the house, you bet your ass I'd have them stashed all over the place.

One more, unenforceable, feel good law for the liberals. One more way to try to make criminals out of honest, tax paying, citizens whom they don't agree with. One more instance of the left showing just how insane they really are.

Gotta love a bunch of politicians who try to make criminals of taxpayers while welcoming illegal invaders into their midst with open arms.

Same here. There was a gun in every room before my son was born. At some point, that will happen again.

No, what it is is a tack-on charge to fuck over anyone who isn't stepping Der Party line out here.

I think that needs a repeat. Maybe an extrapolation of that comparison, find ways for gun owners to be disallowed to vote, but illegals to be allowed to vote. (I can't help it, I spent two days in San Francisco in the past week). Wink

Good one. I think I read today that American Airlines will soon cease having straws onboard. (I wonder if the TSA will check carry-on baggage for straws?)

Ok, will admit it, I’m jealous I don’t have a model 10 in my silverware drawer. I’m not joking, I want that in my life.

I had a loaded weapon handy in every room and it’s going to happen again when it can.

Let's try locking up Commu-tard mayors instead.

Look, say I agree with you, right? Let's say I'm not even disagreeing with you, right? The problem is, that's not a legal or realistic solution. Because that's what they want to do to us.

So, say we agree on all that, right? What's a guy like me supposed to do, short of just gambling it all on job opportunities in other parts of the country? Let's say I'm even doing that, then what?

Simply put: where these fucktards take hold, they tend to outnumber the law-abiding 2A citizen, and even then, they run them out and run them off. They're running me out with their incessant shit, and I applaud the folks that want to stay and fight for it, but this isn't my home and they've made it very clear they don't want me. They sure as shit don't want gun-owning, Republican-voting Southerners moving out here to try and make a nice life for themselves away from the heat and the goddamn bugs, no sir. So. Short of of capitulating and saying "hey, have the shit and the needles and feel as superior and smug as you want about it in the process," what's a guy like me supposed to do? I can't lock up any Commu-tard mayors, and if I did, it wouldn't be a lawful act. What's a guy like me supposed to do?

Well, we're gonna get the fuck out. And it's happening. Seattle, Tacoma, King and Pierce counties can benefit from the massive influx of African and Indian immigrants and lose out on the people who came here to actually make money. Veni, Vidi, Venamos, con todo del prejudicio.

And soon each straw will be required to have its own serial number stamped on it, and will have to be a registered purchase and disposal. Smile

The devil is in the details....

quote:

Also under the legislation, it will be a civil infraction when an owner knows or should know that a minor, “at-risk person” or unauthorized user is likely to access a gun and such a person actually does access the weapon.

The legislation allows fines up to $500 when a gun isn’t locked up, up to $1,000 when a prohibited person accesses a firearm and up to $10,000 when a prohibited person uses the weapon to hurt someone or commit a crime.

Taking into consideration the possibility of a mass shooting, the council tweaked the legislation Monday to allow gun owners to be fined separately for each person injured or killed.

In addition to allowing fines, the legislation will pave the way for lawsuits. The infractions will be considered initial evidence of negligence in civil court matters.

Also Monday, the Seattle council passed legislation that will increase the maximum fine for gun owners who fail to timely report lost or stolen firearms, from $500 to $1,000.

It isn’t about safety, it is about placing responsibility for others on the gun owner as well as crippling financial risk and liability.

Your gun not “safely stored”, stolen in a burglary and then used in a mass shooting? Congratulations you are now facing civil penalties for each victim. Oh, and they don’t have to “prove” a civil penalty, you have to contest it and disprove it. Convenient huh? As for appealing decisions, take a look at the costs involved in that just in court filing fees.

Some might say they are “stacking the deck”...

My countdown to exodus from WA state has begun, just need to survive another 5 years or so until I can retire.

They won’t be happy till it is the shittiest shithole on the west coast.

Having lived there for a stint (I knew I had made a grave error 2 weeks in) due to a job transfer within the company, I’m curious....when I lived there the big talk was a rail/train for commuters because the traffic was so terrible. (Too many people living in a condensed area with too little freeways/roads) The locals would get angry when I brought this up, just asking questions about it. Did anything ever come of it? I mean it’s been almost 15 years since I lived in Bothell so I am just curious. My commute was terrible while there. Bothell to Kirkland and it would take me half an hour to 40 minutes. The commute was only a couple of miles, that’s how bad the traffic is there during rush hours. And good luck speeding anywhere. The local highway nazis make damn sure you can’t drive above 60 mph on the 5 or 405. One of the happiest days of my life was the day the 18 wheeler showed up to pick up my stuff. I hit a massive gridlock traffic jam driving out and it’s the only time I was ever happy in traffic.

What am I doing? I'm talking to an empty telephone
