People get nervous in the lead-up to national elections, even the midterms, primarily because of the close balance in Congress.

Oh, pish-posh, you say. Everything's fine. I can get yadda yadda piece o' cake.

Fine, then do it. You need AR magazines, pistol magazines, ammunition? Go. Go now.

.

You still here?

Go. Right now.

Maybe we'll have a mini-feeding frenzy, maybe we won't, but shortages are not actually needed. The perception of a shortage is all it takes to create an actual shortage. Remember COVID and the toilet paper? Don't get caught with your pants down. Razz

I’ve got a loft full of ammo. .22 LR, .380, and 9mm. My heirs will have to deal with the rest of it.

Several years ago a window briefly opened allowing Californians to buy, and legally possess, full capacity magazines. The manufacturers suspended sales to other folks to let us get ours while the getting was good.

Like all the other times you gave the same advice?

And were right?

I’m still in pretty good shape from when I followed your advice before, but perhaps should see what I actually have, and not rely on memory.

I have a bunch and tons of 223 too. And I won't have any heirs...so I gotta figure that out.

The 94 ban cured me of not having enough.
In 98 my one and only Glock17 mag shit the bed.
Normal 17 round mags were pretty hard to find and expensive.
I wound up with an aftermarket 30 round mag for it and used it for a while.

In summer 2016, Para strongly encouraged Sigforumites to "stack it deep when it's cheap." I took heed and put some muscle on the UPS man by ordering a case or two every paycheck.

New UPS guy is looking kinda scrawny too...

I’ve been stacking for years. Every time I’d see a sale on a case price I’d buy a couple. During the lean years my friends were hitting me up for ammo they knew I had, but at old prices of course. I let very little go.

Just recently bought 400 rounds of LC 5.56 Tracer. Too dry right now to try it.

I'm flush with ammo, have been accumulating it for decades, long before it became trendy to do so. Heck, I even have over 1500 rounds of 38 Super! Not to mention the other stuff, which I am not going to mention.

I'm fairly well set on ammo, but Para's always given good advice, so I just made a big-for me-order.

I started stacking deep after the Sandy Hook market crashed in 2013 and continue through 2016. I started reloading right after the Wu Flu hoax, although not as cheap as before, I am sitting pretty decent. I still but small batches of primers, projectiles, and powder a couple of times a month.

I did get caught with my pants down supply wise once. Never again. At my current consumption rate, I have enough for about 15 years which I can live with

I have several guns bought in the last few years that I still haven't shot, and I'm looking for a few more (mainly I want a couple more P-229s in major caliber if I can find them at reasonable prices).

Also started stacking ammo, as much as I can afford but not as much as I want.

I'm on a .357SIG ammo buying binge now. Going to grab some in a parking lot deal tomorrow and then hopefully more at the gun show on Sat.

Any chance of the Classifieds here coming back soon?

I started stocking up after the Sandy Hook panic eased. I'm pretty well set for ammo and AR mags, but I wouldn't mind laying in a little more Mk262 and M193. I may pick up a few more 1911 and G19/G17 mags.
