Picked up some .45 and .556 value boxes today. A guy in the ammo line was excitedly telling his buddy that he had just picked up a clean used pistol and was looking for some 38 Super. I laughed.

I was thinking about this last night as I watched SRS with Christian Craigshead. I have a metric ton of ammo and gobs of .556, 9, and .45 magazines. Only problem, they weren’t married. Spent the time and stuffing magazines.

Para speaks the truth. I never feel I have what I need and every month buy a little of something. My biggest regret is AK ammo. I have a good amount and always thought it would be cheap as hell and plenty available as it was. Then now AK ammo is freaking expensive and I sure wish I had bought more back when. There is no too much of anything. As I get older in age I can always start selling some stuff off for money if I want as I have no one I plan to leave anything to.

I regard the M855 "green tip" as more of a "specialty" round. I still have 150 rounds of it. Is that "enough"? One "feeler" has been put out in regards to banning it.

Blue Santa (aka FEDEX) delivered 1000 rounds of 40 S&W today. 32 lbs of cure for being scrawny.

It's also payday so time to place another order.
Brown Santa (aka UPS) DELIVERED 500 rounds of .45 ACP TMJ and 500 rounds of .45 ACP JHP last week.

Today is payday so time for another purchase! Still debating what the purchase should be, but lead case is some more 6.5 Grendel.

If you find more at the right price (or price you can afford), it was the standard issue round for all branches of our military for decades. I am not saying it is the best 5.56mm round available, but it is a viable round to keep on hand and has a track record to make worth using if need be.

Not that it makes any difference whatsoever for civilians, but the M855 round was so well thought-of that the special operations forces requested a load with a different bullet for dealing with actual dangerous, committed enemies.

I "bought cheap and stacked it deep" around Sandy Hook and the 2016 election (I built a 'Hillary Hedge Fund') but then cut way back on shooting during Covid madness. Now that I've decided to resume shooting (a suppressor is about to be bought) I checked ammo stock.

I was happily shocked how well I was stocked. I'm less than 1K in only one caliber, 300BLK, so that's on the shopping list now.

Thanks for the reminder.
