I am not gonna worry about too much. I been stacking it deep for years. My Grandsons will probably shooting my ammo long after I am gone.

Sage advice. Load up while it’s available and as cheap as it’s going to be.

A lot is riding on the mid-term election. Trump's popularity has sunk and if the left gains leverage there will be anti-gunners in the state legislatures. Buy now seems smart.

If I may add, now is also THE time to acquire silencers, SBRs, SBSs, and FRTs (if you live where there are no restrictions). Form 1 and Form 4 approval times are crazy fast, in some states you can purchase a silencer using just a 4473, and if you want FRTs the models they are being made for just continue to increase. 9mm isn’t 17 cents per round and 5.56mm isn’t a quarter per round like it was right before Covid hit, but now is one of the best times I have lived to be a shooter!

We've got a discount store called Ben's Bargains and they serve as an outlet for Wal-Mart among others - today they are advertising ammo at 40% off marked price. I'm flush but here's a link

Had a friend in need of money last week. Bought a case of LC 5.56 green tip for $350. Need it? Enh, not really but I don’t pass up a bargain.

I'm good on mags and ammo. That doesn't mean that Para's advice is bad. If you're short on shooting supplies, STOCK UP!

Bossman,

Thank you for the admonishment or counsel. In truth, this provided the incentive I required to begin my voyage into reloading.

I am now awaiting a Lee Hand Press and breech lock 3 carbide die sets for .44, .45, .38, and.380 — next stop, locally, powder, primers, and some additional brass to round out the conversion of chemically induced potential into kinetic energy.

I simply don’t have the room for either a bench or a bench mounted system and I hope this latest acquisition will scratch the itch and lite a fire for future growth!

Para, thanks again for knocking me off Top Dead Center — the front porch and counsel you graciously share with us rapscallions is truly multi faceted and absolutely Priceless!

Godspeed and Good Hunting, Always

I began reloading with an RCBS Junior bolted to a 2" x 10" board, clamped to a Black and Decker Workmate Workbench. Folded up nicely and tucked in the back of a small clothes closet. I still have it.

I was just thinking about this and I have posted my suggestion previously but I will reiterate. Buy guns now, there are some great deals on used guns if you look. I picked up two more XDM’s this week under $300 shipped each. I see 380’s on Gunbroker for around $200. I have inexpensive but reliable handguns available wherever I am in the home or vehicles.

It is a very poor time to sell, but it is a great time to buy. Get it while prices are low and availability is high. We all know it will not last and follow Para’s advice on the other stuff.

FYI I monitor GB Monday through Thursday and focus on penny start, no reserve auctions (you can sort by those). I set my max price before I start and watch them. There are some really good deals on used and i see new guns selling for less than wholesale.

I stopped at a big outdoor shop Sunday morning for a few things, and a few new magazines arrived today for the new-to-me P226.

Don't forget spare parts! Besides the reloading components in my earlier post, I am stocking up on springs, pins, firing pins, and any other wear items for both firearms and reloading presses.

Trying to be tactful here so if this comes off as smartass please know it’s with good intentions and tone.

If you think you’re set, get a few more. If you have tons of ammo, get a spare BCG or LPK.

If you have tons of and Mags, but 2 more lowers.

Don’t focus on 9mm and 22LR alone. Get those random ass .338 spectre or .35 Whelen rounds.

Always a spot in our collections that needs to be fortified.

Then, buy some cases of water Big Grin Ammo and Mags won’t feed you!
