Bald is your last name, no?
I think that's his middle name. His last name is "1"

Very good question.

Screen name and avatar are self-explanatory. Not.

Actually, i don’t mind.
Old friends call me Nicky but i’ve pretty much stopped using it with new acquaintances.
Them using my real name works as an yellow warning light meaning a bit more distance and less familiarity. You guys can call me Nicky anytime.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

The truth is, 20 years ago it might have mattered. Now, data correlation is such that the data aggregators know every post is yours. Though not so easily with SF, as I'm certain Para is not monetizing the site like on other forums. But on other forums, absolutely every "bit" of data they suck from your computer, browser, and ISP is sold, and correlated in data centers.

And even with SF, it wouldn't surprise me if they were successful at some point, using NLU (Natural Language Understanding) to gather elements on one's posts and create a finger print. A post with a link to a YouTube that has a fingerprint in the URL to your Google account. Or the same for FaceBook or whatever. An email in a for sale post, yes, even if you put spaces in. No amount of work is too much for the machines.

So, yeah, I'd prefer names be left out. And as others have said, especially last names. But do not rest easy that what you post is anonymous. Always be prepared to face up to ownership of them. I know most of you know this, but just for the others (especially the early entrants to forums), to know the game is very different now.

I don't advertise it, mainly because you guys are part of my personal life and I don't want that getting construed as or mixed up with anything at work...but I don't go to any crazy measures to hide who I am, either. That cat is out of the bag...a simple google search will get anybody more than they want to know.
