Before the November 2021 election , DEMs held the majority of the Virginia House of Delegates. 55 DEMs, 45 REPs After the November election, we picked up 5 seats and 2 other seats were being recounted because of very close elections. One of the recounts was completed today. The REP candidate for the 85th district was declared the winner in the first recount. So REPs now have 51 seats (and the majority). The other recount will be held next week. If we win that also, we will have 52 REPs, 48 DEMs.

The leftists still don't understand how phony and childish they sound. Nor how much more and more voters aren't buying their clumsy elitist BS. From a SNL skit ridiculing Virginia voters from https://therepublicanstandard....a/trs-staff/2021/12/ Another thing that people are waking up to - nowadays an awful lot of college degrees don't mean crap about how smart that degree holder is. Who brought us CRT ? academics and race hustlers

The second Virginia House of Delegates recount was resolved today. The Republican candidate of the 91st district held onto the slim lead. So we have a House of Delegates with 52 REPs and 48 DEMs.

School Board Association That Wrote Letter Comparing Parents To Domestic Terrorists Has Lost $1 Million https://www.dailywire.com/news...m_campaign=position2 The school board association that wrote the letter to the Biden administration asking the Department of Justice (DOJ) to crack down on “threats of violence and acts of intimidation” at local school board meetings is bleeding money following a national backlash. The Washington Examiner reported that the National School Boards Association “is looking at a shortfall of at least $1.1 million,” following the fallout from its disastrous letter, which saw numerous state board associations cut ties with the national organization. The dues payments from those states totaled about $1.1 million, leading to the shortfall. In a “Time Line of Concerns Raised by Members,” published by the NSBA, the national association names 12 states that officially withdrew membership from the NSBA as of October 31: Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. As The Daily Wire previously reported, the letter from the NSBA was sent to the Biden administration in late September. Days after the letter was sent, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced he was ordering the FBI to investigate a recent spike in “harassment, intimidation, and threats of violence” against school board members. The original NSBA letter asked the Biden administration to use the Patriot Act to look into “acts of malice, violence and threats against public school officials,” which the association said “could be the equivalent to a form of domestic terrorism and hate crimes.” In October, emails showed that the NSBA’s president and CEO sent the letter to the Biden administration on September 29 without prior approval from the organization’s board. The emails also showed that the White House asked the NSBA for examples of the alleged threats against school board members just one day before Garland announced the task force that would look into those threats. On October 22, the NSBA apologized for that letter and the language it used. In addition, the association apologized for not getting prior approval from the organization’s board to send the letter. “On behalf of NSBA, we regret and apologize for the letter,” the organization wrote in a letter to NSBA members. “To be clear, the safety of school board members, other public school officials and educators, and students is our top priority, and there remains important work to be done on this issue. However, there was no justification for some of the language included in the letter. We should have had a better process in place to allow for consultation on a communication of this significance. We apologize also for the strain and stress this situation has caused you and your organizations.” “As we’ve reiterated since the letter was sent, we deeply value not only the work of local school boards that make important contributions within our communities, but also the voices of parents, who should and must continue to be heard when it comes to decisions about their children’s education, health, and safety,” the apology continued. _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." The Youngkin dividend https://forliberty.news/2021/1...gkin-dividend-rs-nl/ Even though the 2021 election season is long over, there’s still fallout from the GOP win in Virginia. One place reaping the benefits: North Carolina , where Democratic Gov. Roy Cooper is not going to stand in the way of the GOP legislature’s effort to reduce and repeal state taxes: The deal phases out the state’s 2.5% corporate income tax between 2025 and 2031. When fully repealed, that will amount to at least $900 million in annual tax savings. The deal also cuts the state’s flat 5.25% personal income tax rate in stages to 3.99% by July 1, 2027. The deal raises the standard deduction to $25,500 for joint filers and $12,750 for single payers, among other tax tweaks. North Carolina ranks tenth on the Tax Foundation’s 2021 state business tax climate index, and these reforms will make it even more competitive. And it’s about to get even more competitive, which helps explain why North Carolina gained an additional U.S. House district in the recent census. Politics can work, for everyone’s benefit. It just takes a bit of compromise…something desperately lacking in DC: The North Carolina budget is an example of bipartisan compromise that would be possible in Washington if President Biden tried to govern as he campaigned instead of bowing to the left at every turn. But the GOP victories in Virginia and beyond are already paying dividends around the country. It appears so. And while the usual words of caution are necessary – don’t get cocky – the prospects for a more constructive political climate are there.

SNL used to be funny. "Smug" is a good word for that skit. The audience must be made up of people with Masters Degrees in anthropology who work as barristas. The truth is the swing votes that elected Gov. Youngkin came from... all over, including Northern Virginia, an area the Dems thought they had locked up (and a place with a lot of educated people).

https://donnyferguson.com/2021...ouse-gas-initiative/ Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin announced his intention to withdraw the Commonwealth of Virginia from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI), a pact of 11 states requiring power plants inside those states to purchase “allowances” to emit a determined amount of carbon dioxide. Governor-elect Youngkin said, “RGGI describes itself as a regional market for carbon. But it is really a carbon tax that is fully passed on to ratepayers. It’s a bad deal for Virginians. It a bad deal for Virginia businesses.” Last week, CEI released a new study by senior fellow Marlo Lewis “Why Carbon Taxes Are Anti-Growth, Anti-Consumer, and Politically Dangerous for Conservatives,” which found a carbon tax is unnecessary, harmful to growth, and certain to raise prices on consumers when inflation is already high. Director of CEI’s Center for Energy and Environment Myron Ebell commended Youngkin’s announcement: “CEI congratulates Virginia Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin for announcing his intention to withdraw the Commonwealth of Virginia from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) when he takes office next month. Governor Ralph Northam’s unilateral decision in July 2020 to join the compact of eleven northeastern states has already raised electricity prices and that is just the beginning. “RGGI is essentially a CO2 tax on fossil fuel energy that will raise electric rates for consumers indefinitely and make the grid less reliable. “Governor-elect Youngkin made it clear that he fully understands the negative effects of staying in RGGI. He could also add another reason for withdrawing Virginia: it is a compact between states that is unconstitutional under Article I, Section 10, Clause 3 of the Constitution, which states clearly that ‘No State shall, without the Consent of Congress, … enter into and Agreement or Compact with another State….’”

Glenn Youngkin will be sworn in as Governor on 15 January 2022. Winsome Sears (Lt Gov) and Jason Miyares (Attorney General) will also be sworn in on 15 January. Daniel Gade will become commissioner of the Department of Veterans Services. There are 800,000 veterans in Virginia. Some of you helped Daniel Gade in his 2020 campaign for U.S. senator. He lost to Mark Warner Andrew Wheeler was nominated as secretary of natural resources. Wheeler was President Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency chief. Wheeler may face opposition from the Virginia Senate which is controlled by DEMs 21-19.
