The American Heart Association does not even recommend wrist monitors.

My Omron wrist monitor detected a heart problem when I told a cardiologist what the readings were & what the monitor was doing. No other doctors office readings detected a problem. Omron was recommended by the cardiologist's nurse. I compared the wrist monitor to the arm band monitor provided by the VA and readings are similar.

I have been using a MicroLife. Much more consistent readings than any of the Omron models I have tried.

The MicroLife is around fifty bucks at Costco. It has memory for two different people, dumps the data to my iPhone (I don't know whether there's an Android app).

Company (and customer support) is in Miami.

doesn't mean you should

I got this about 6 months ago and compared it to my Omron for a while, until I had confidence it was accurate and reliable.
Has an app for phones so you can easily keep records and show your DR at appointments.
Amazon has a great deal right now on them.

Genorogers, thanks for resurrecting this thread. I saw it and decided to just look up the one I use (OMRON BP5450 Platinum). Cuff model that downloads directly to the APP on my phone and I can get the APP to compile reports to share with the docs. But, while looking it up I discovered a newer model that also automatically screens for Afib! Looks as if I'll be upgrading shortly. Thanks!

I have a wrist monitor I take on trips. I use it to get a 'ballpark' number only.

My health insurance sends me a new one every 2 years. This year they sent me an Omron BP7255, which seems to be relatively consistent (made in Vietnam). They stopped sending the Greater Goods models, which would often send error messages for no reason I could figure out.

I chose to get it at Costco because ease of returning if any problem. Costco location is maybe 5 or 10 minutes from my house, so very convenient. Also gives me an opportunity to do battle in the Costco parking lot, which in turn makes the BP monitor necessary. Wink

My doctor recommended the Omron BP7150. I always bring it to my doctors visits to compare numbers and accuracy.
