At 18 I was away at a College Dorm when it was in session but resumed living at home in between sessions. By 20 I had given up on College and got a job and an apartment.

18 like everyone I knew. Went to college, three years Army (1967 thru 1969), back to college, married, got a job. Wages were high enough to pay for college by working summers and evenings. After Army, GI bill and working part time paid for shared apartment, food, beer & gas for car.

18 and off to the dorms I went. Came home for the first summer and year two I only lasted a week or two before I left for good. My Mom was the reason for never coming back. She couldn’t give up trying to control me…

18. Started my first real job and split a house rental with 2 other guys.
This was about 100 miles from parents but I went back many weekends for a while.
About a year later I moved about 900 miles away (ATL area) where I've lived ever since, about 53 years.
