Long incarceration would be expensive and a waste of potentially productive labor.
I know it is politically incorrect, and probably violates the 8th, but I can't help thinking that flogging or something comparable would be a greater deterrent and less costly to society.

If she hires a greasy, long-haired nasty-ass lawyer she can probably successfully sue the homeowner and live off the proceeds until the leg heals sufficiently to take up her thieving ways again.

If she live in New Jersey it is possible. Years ago in New Jersey there was a story about someone stealing a TV from a house. They slipped and fell on the front porch steps on the way out and successfully sued the home owner from jail.

A neighbor of the person who posted this said they hit his house a few minutes prior to this video. They had a clear shot of the license plate and posted it.
I’m sure they’ll get caught. It’s also been shared almost 1,000 times.
