A suicide bomber set off a device at the Port Authority bus terminal Monday morning, law enforcement sources said.

The suspected bomber – who had wires attached to him – was armed with a pipe bomb and a battery pack, sources said.

He was taken into custody after the device partially detonated inside the passageway to the N, Q and R trains, according to sources.

There was at least one injury and the wounded was the suspect. He was taken to Bellevue Hospital. His identity was not immediately known.

Emergency personnel flooded the scene.

Mayor de Blasio has been briefed on the incident.

This is a developing story.

I think this should be viewed as a feel good story. The headline should read "Bumbling fool manages to hurt himself". Not even as good as jumping in front of a train or bus. But we may become overconfident. There are more of them than there are of us. Not to worry, as long as they keep blowing themselves up (painfully, I hope) sooner or later they'll stop trying.

Talk in the media about treating him as an enemy combatant. What are the advantages assuming the ACLU wouldn't prevail? Everything in the Miranda rights off the table? More?
