After the shooting officers enter the residence and one says Fucked, were all fucked, and then another officer sees the camera and alerts them to it, and the discussion stops. The second video below is also interesting. I did not see the man make any confrontational moves. I would like to see the body cam videos if they were wearing any but from this view it does not look good for the police. https://newschannel9.com/newsl...-department-sheriff# _________________________ "Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it." What I saw was attempted murder, a man with his hands raised, trying to figure out what was going on when he was gunned down. Sometimes, you gotta roll the hard six

If they'd shot him right when he opened the door, you might be able to explain it away that they thought whatever that was in his hand was a gun. That's not what we saw.

I predict the LEOs will claim, 'furtive movement' and be let off with slaps on the wrist. Some of them might even be savvy enough to claim PTSD from shooting him, leave the department, and collect early pension & disability benefits as Philip Brailsford did after he shot Daniel Shaver. I'm amazed the woman didn't get shot.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should |
They've also charged him with a variety of charges according to the news article. I'm guessing someones going to be owning an Indian Casino. ___________________________ Avoid buying ChiCom/CCP products whenever possible.

"Yea, he was resisting, obstructing, and delaying Mr DA. After he shot him, for no reason, he wouldn't get out of our way so we could clear the home. What? How was he resisting? He refused to get up and walk out to us. Obstructing? We had to step over him to get into the home. Delaying? I got home late because we had to carry him to the hospital first." I'll add, those boys are some lousy shots. Hedley Lamarr: Wait, wait, wait. I'm unarmed. Bart: Alright, we'll settle this like men, with our fists. Hedley Lamarr: Sorry, I just remembered . . . I am armed.

I've said it before and I'll say it again even though it probably won't be popular. The militarization of police was a huge mistake. When they dress like Army guys, get high and tights or shave their heads, run around in BDUs and boots they're gonna get the same mindset as the military has and the same sort of ROE. Except of course, these shootings have become somewhat commonplace so the ROE are becoming acceptable to a large number of people. If they don't get prison time, some friend or relative ought to go tune them up a bit.

I too agree that the cops have gotten wayyyy too aggressive and are wayyyy to militarized in both gearing and mindset. There is some stigma about them that their safety is of the most primary concern above all else including anyone else's life which makes them extremely dangerous. I believe I read a list somewhere of dangerous jobs based on violence caused injury and fatalities while on duty and pizza delivery was #1 while police were around #20 or so.

I'll slightly off this is as possible mitigation, but not an excuse, for the cops. When the perp picked up their drone with the light on it, at first glance (and I've watched the vid a few times) it looks like the light from a WML on a pistol. I don't know if he aimed or pointed it at the officers when he opened the door but clearly his L arm is up in the air and it looks like his R is too. This is just fucked up by the cops. The resisting charge is BS and but for the camera in the residence, the cops could say whatever the hell they wanted, unless they had body cams and I'm assuming they do. The supposed perp survived and was discharged after surgery and a lot of staples.

I would like to see the training records and what the selection process was used to set up and staff the "team". I also want to read the probable cause statement used to obtain the search warrant. The only possible excuse for shooting this man is someone mistook the light on the robot for a WML. End of Earth: 2 Miles Upper Peninsula: 4 Miles

Mistaking a light for a wml is moot in my opinion. If the mere presence of a weapon justifies shooting then it should be fair to exchange it both ways. I'd rather there be a bit more of a conservative approach for everyone involved before lead is flung.

Wow that is horrific. I can’t believe the woman didn’t get shot as well. What’s the story behind this. They are certainly looking for something which I guess is a gun but why is SWAT going to a house like this. On an unrelated note if someone breaks into your house how can your first thought be to light up a cigarette. Holy smokes. This message has been edited. Last edited by: 1s1k,
