Commercial ChiCom ones make it about 6 months - which may work great for home use.

We’ve tried all the commercial irons. They all have issues, but our current ones seem to do better - but they’re well out of most folks home budgets - nor does a house need a waffle iron which goes 12 hours a day, at 1’ per waffle.

$80 shipped. Granted not the same one at hotels but this is the only one they list on their website.

The exterior condition of this one is a little rough but these are hands down the best option if cooking for a family. Hard to find. I have one at home, cabin and a “spare”!

Durability? The one at house was my mom’s circa 1950s….

We bought an inexpensive Cuisinart model when full-time Rving and bought another for my MIL for when we visited. We now own both and have had them for 15+ years. We set them both out on the counter and can crank out an entire box of Krusteaz waffles in about 10 minutes.

This one...

I've been looking at that one but concerned about reports of the hinge area breaking.

We have a Black and decker combo waffle/griddle G48TD. It does the job grilled cheese and waffles are our most use. I couldn't justify the price of these high-end makers simply because we don't eat waffles every day nor every week for that matter.
For $200+ you can buy a lot of restaurant waffles.

I would probably just go with a Bella version. Unless you can find an American made cast iron waffle iron or some lightly used gem at a thrift store. We will have all the stuff and China will have our useless dollars. Wink

$200 does give me pause, especially for made in prc crap. If the All Clad were made in USA and cost $300, I'd buy it in heartbeat.

I know it's a lot of waffles in a restaurant or even frozen. But then I can't tailor the batter. For example, I like my pancake batter so that it makes thick 3/4" pancakes rather than thin 1/4" ones. And I like to add things like vanilla, hemp seeds, flax seeds, banana and other stuff to the batter. And cook them in lotsa butter. And use my own maple syrup (I have my preferred brands). And use my own butter on top.

My leading candidates now are a couple of the Cuisinart's and the all clad.

If it’s between all clad or Cuisinart… You know what you gotta do. Buy American.

Wait - aren't both America companies? But both units are made in prc.....

I had the exact same idea about 6 months ago, buying new one of those hotel/motel models. I couldn't find one and put it on the back burner out of frustration. I just couldn’t find one. I almost bought a used one on eBay but didn’t.

I don’t know if this would work for you, but there are brand new in the box (unused) vintage USA made waffle makers on eBay. I think I’ll buy one. These are not exactly what you described, but at least are electric USA made.

Just put “new in box USA made vintage waffle maker” in the search box.

Best wishes to you.

Ok so relating to waffles, I was at the Oaks gun show and these kids next to me were selling their homegrown syrups. 9 Flavors, with a coupon code for 30% off! Code: Hickory30

Ya'll will not be disappointed!

They also sell bourbon barrel wood chips for your smokers.

I have a waring pro also that I've had for 15 years and it works awesome. I had some white POS before that, that completely sucked. BUT, looking at Waring prices now, holy cow......I want to say I only paid around $100 for mine new.

I found a new one somewhat local to me for $250.

It's a tough choice between that and 2 new Cuisinart's or the All Clad.
