I'm with the group here. Until there is some evidence of them doing it on your property, they deserve the benefit of the doubt. That said, in the past when we caught people erecting stands ON our property, after being told "no" we have made midnight raids with a chain saw and taken care of the stand. It wasn't a mistake on their part, it was hundred yards into the property line, across the creek that was the boundary, and after they asked permission and were told no. Why position yourself to hunt 30' from where you can't?
It sounds like you are like my neighbors, unless you build a wall I can encroach. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

That's already been explained, has it not? "America is at that awkward stage. It's too late to work within the system,,,, but too early to shoot the bastards." -- Claire Wolfe "If we let things terrify us, life will not be worth living." -- Seneca the Younger, Roman Stoic philosopher

Yes, it has. That particular spot gives me an excellent 180 degree view of the land I can hunt (with excellent lanes), as well as a watch over the land I can't hunt. There have been times I've watched deer come from the "forbidden zone" to my lanes. Also, sometimes due to prevailing winds that stand is in a great location. This message has been edited. Do you like wind chimes??? Know someone who had a similar issues. Shortly after the wind chimes were hung the deer stand went away. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. Hunters with blinds that close to the line will take every opportunity to use the adjacent property.

I think I'll have a discussion with them before resorting to cameras , chimes, etc. see you're exactly correct. Yesterday evening I spoke with a good friend who hunts. In fact he asked me about hunting on my property a couple years ago. I politely told him that I don't allow any hunting, "if I did though it'd be for friends like you". Anyway I described my situation and asked his thoughts. He laughed saying "of course they'll place their stands right at your line they're hunting on you because that's where most of the deer are". Thankfully I don't have a problem with the other neighbors. This one just baits and shoots them in his field, the brush I'm standing in is on me. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

In VA, you can't feed deer from Sept 1 through the first Saturday in Jan. The problem with that is the deer become conditioned to that area of feeding and will still come back to check it out. Look at the date.......Sept 17 41

I imagine he finds it easier to bait them with his timed feeder than planting corn. No car is as much fun to drive, as any motorcycle is to ride.

He probably doesn't know it is illegal. There are too many deer so the more he shoots, the better. I use to hunt and give them to the Hunters for the Hungry. But when I went to Lynchburg to donate some items, Dave Horn wanted money and become arrogant when I told him no and that I had been laid off. Over the years, I gave them 40+ deer. There were times that I got two at one time. The deer are conditioned to the noise from Dulles Airport. At the back of the field, it is 120 yards from the tree stand and you shoot one with a 243 and the others just stand around while Bucky lays down. 41

Baiting deer on private land in WV is legal. Baiting is prohibited in the CWD Containment Area; and it is illegal to bait or feed any wildlife at any time on public lands.

If you interfere with them hunting their land, you will have committed a crime in many states. This is a fairly serious crime in Texas - not just a ticket. The fish is mute, expressionless. The fish doesn't think because the fish knows everything.

Could you explain this further? It sounds like you are saying that a private land owner in Texas is not free to enjoy his/her property in anyway he/she sees fit.

One is not interfering they are still free to hunt as they see fit on their property. ———————————————— The world's not perfect, but it's not that bad. If we got each other, and that's all we have. I will be your brother, and I'll hold your hand. You should know I'll be there for you!

He's saying their is a law that prohibits people or groups of people, land owners or not from engaging in any activity that interferes with someone lawfully hunting.

Nowhere in the U.S. is a private land owner free to enjoy his/her property in anyway he/she sees fit. There are always restrictions based on how you affect other landowners and other people in the community. You can't just do whatever you want because you're on your own property. Governments are free to put reasonable restrictions as well, ie. building codes.

In Georgia, that would almost assuredly be considered interfering: (a) It shall be unlawful for any person to: (1) Interfere with the lawful taking of wildlife by another person by intentionally preventing or attempting to prevent such person from such lawful taking of wildlife; (2) Disturb or engage in activity tending to disturb wildlife for the purpose of intentionally preventing or attempting to prevent the lawful taking of such wildlife; or (3) Fail to obey an order of a law enforcement officer to desist from conduct violating paragraph (1) or (2) of this subsection if the law enforcement officer observes such conduct or if the law enforcement officer has reasonable grounds for believing that the person has engaged in such conduct that day or that the person plans or intends to engage in such conduct that day at a specific location.
