Friday night she fell in the Kitchen. She isn't sure why or how. I heard it in from the den and and ran in to find her in the floor crying in pain and holding her head with both hands. I thought she had hit her head on the tile floor but she said no, just her knee hurt, the dishwasher door was partially open. I finally got her up in a chair with an Ice pack and 3 Ibuprofen. Sat morning went for x-rays. Kneecap broken in multiple pieces with separation and displacement. Immobilizing brace for now, knee specialist to be seen Tuesday.

It's strange, she has no bruising or marks externally but there is lots of swelling. Hoping no soft tissue, joint or tendon etc damage.

She is in a LOT of pain, just going to the bathroom or getting in a chair or bed is awfully painful but she does fair when sitting perfectly still, I got her a rolling walker with a seat on it and that has been a huge help getting her around. Getting her in and out of the car was bad.

For anyone so inclined she could use and would appreciate your thoughts and prayers...

You might send one up for me as well. Big Grin.
She is adapting to me waiting on her hand and foot real quick! Eek
Plus I will be assuming the taxi service for the Grandkids... Thankfully, she hasn't remembered the little hand bell that sits in the breakfast nook window... yet.

And your job for now is to wait on her hand and foot so the bell never occurs to her. Eek

I suspect that ice may really be her friend in dealing with the swelling and pain. As always, follow the doc’s instructions.

Good thoughts and prayers for both of you. May this all pass quickly and successfully and may you both remember it as a time that you came together.

From someone who took a spill recently you guys have my prayers.
Praying the pain ease's and that the medical attention she gets helps sooner than later.
She is one tough gal to not make you take her to the ER right after it happened. That had to be really, really painful.

May God hold you both and heal her and restore her health very soon.

Thoughts and prayers and sympathy from over here in yUK.

I sincerely hope that your lady is a good healer - this kind of damage, particularly if you are no longer young, can take ages to get better from.

Wow, you are both in my prayers.

I know it hurts, but I am glad it is only the knee.

I get so many of these type of calls during the week, I was so hesitant to even open the thread.

My thoughts are with you all. I'm wondering whether there's something else amiss, that induced her fall.

Keep an eye on her and I'm sorry for yoru troubles.

You’re both in my prayers. Milo too.

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."
