Grandma at 36 is acceptable to you?

My sister was a grandmother at 36. Had two children very young, married at 17. Still married today. She has a lovely family, kids are grown and out of the house after raising them as mostly a stay at home mom. After her son and daughter were older, she trained, went to school, and now has a career in law enforcement as a Sheriff's deputy K9 officer. Her son, my nephew, had a child at 18 and then another a couple of years later. He owns his own home now and is raising two beautiful girls on a lower to middle class salary.

So is it acceptable to me? What the fuck do you think?

Surely, despite this outlier, you don't believe that this is something every woman should aspire to or be admired for.

However, this quote is pretty much always taken out of context.

You're kidding, right? She was playing hide the salami on camera for money, which equates to prostitution- showin' it to anyone who had a dollar to give her- and you think it's the same as being felt up on a date in a dark auditorium, being unaware you're on camera? You're out of your mind.

This whole damn thing is downright silly.

I think both are quite silly, but it does show the media is paying more attention to both sides if only as a WTF story.

A nothing burger.

In a dark theater, the two are likely a little tipsy, watching a stage musical. Both are single, consenting adults. Guy copping a feel in the dark and the gal liking it. Infra red surveillance camera produces a grainy video clip ripe for the yellow journalism crowd. The folks around them were more offended by her loud enjoyment of the show, and likely did not see the groping.

Never mind. The fact that you think it's "silly" for the media to cover a story about a state house candidate fucking on camera for money demonstrates clearly that there is no point in trying to make you understand.

What? A mother and homemaker? In point of fact, I think that is precisely what every, or most, woman should aspire to be and certainly be admired for it.

I know the broader point you guys are making and will stipulate that nowadays most women who have children in their teens, even their late teens, don't usually turn out great. In my sister's case, she had a man who was committed and who had an extremely hard work ethic (and still does). They also had support from both families. So I suppose they are outliers, though I would say that they shouldn't be. In a perfect world.

Never said it was or wasn't silly to cover them. My point is the media is covering both sides whenever odd stuff comes up instead of, "They'd never cover this if they were a democrat...".

What's I find eyebrow raising is that it is so much easier for her to lie about the whole thing instead of saying, "Yeah, I got kicked out for vaping" and being accountable for her actions.

What also bugs me is that she is yet another self absorbed person that thinks it's just fine to disrupt other people's enjoyment of a public event.

Could not care less that she had a kid as a teenager; teens fuck up. She's an adult now, though.

Well, a lot of Christians quote the Torah. Razz

A friend of mine, musician / songwriter, made a drunken bet that he could write a good Gospel song within 24 hours. He won the bet, it became one of his better known songs and was almost always requested at live performances. He would introduce the song, talk about it a bit, and remind the audience that "Jesus was a Jew -- even though He had a Puerto Rican name."

Not to hijack the thread, but I've heard that Norman Greenbaum who recorded "Spirit In The Sky" back about 1970 is Orthodox Jewish, not Christian. Smile
