No, looks like the oldest model that can take iOS 26 is the 11 so you just missed it: iPhone models compatible with iOS 26

Evidently the “battery life” issue is temporary and impacts all major updates. After the install process, there is a lot of background stuff being done indexing files and whatnot that is the cause. Once everything is completed, battery life returns to “normal” What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

They won’t “auto update” to a major version, only the sequential updates within a major version. Have to specifically request the new one. What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???

They write an article like that every update. When you upgrade your ios version your phone has some extra housekeeping work to do on the first day or 2. That leads to the decreased battery life, and it resolves it self pretty quickly. Google any IOS update in the last 10-15 years and you’ll see the exact same complaint. I’ve had no issues with the update on multiple phones, iPad, or Mac.
While you can’t turn it off since it’s not a skin, you can reduce the effects by going to Settings > Accessibility > Display & Text Size and toggle ‘on’ Reduce Transparency. You can see if that helps any.

I just did the 18.7 upgrade. I will wait a bit before doing 26. I just ordered a new iwatch 11. My current was an iwatch 6. I usually wait about 5 years before upgrading a device. NRA Benefactor Life Member

I was forced to upgrade to 26 today on my work phone. I see no real difference other than they made stuff more visually transparent in the Lock Screen and in messages. No problems so far. NRA Benefactor Life Member

Went ahead and upgraded my (soon to be my wife’s) 15 Pro Max so I could get a sneak peak before my 17 PM arrives tomorrow as well as my Ultra 2 watch. I also upgraded her iPad and 14+ that is going to be traded is so she can start with all the ”Hey, honey…” IT requests as she notices things different than what she is used to. I don’t expect her to notice much different than the case it is in as she is pretty non-tech. Really liking the multi-window feature on the iPad. Still no problems to report What part of "...Shall not be infringed" don't you understand???
