Things could be worse here.

I'll be having an unhealthy breakfast, sipping some tea, puffin' on a stogie, and reading some Patrick O'Brien.

Just about ready to head out the door for Church. Had breakfast, sausage, scrambled eggs with cheese and cinnamon rolls (nothing unhealthy about us) and finishing my cold brew.

I'm waiting for 3 friends to come over for coffee and donuts, we often even read a scripture or two. Sadly my Sunday mornings with these friends is about 50% of my weekly social life. I start the covid shots Wed so life will get a little better after I finish that process.

I just finished a sausage, egg and cheese sandwich, 4 jelly donuts and an XL dark roast coffee from Dunkin.
Lazy day I think and I have nothing really to do.

Going out for breakfast at my favorite place for the best chicken fried steak with country gravy, scrambled eggs and hash browns anywhere and then heading out for a little afternoon/evening ice fishing.

Well, seeing as it's single digits outside, I'm cycling between the hobby room in the basement and the computer room.

Around 10:00, I'll run the cardboard to the dump transfer station and head into town to pick up a couple of things.

By the time I get back, I'll be exhausted and a nap will no doubt ensue.

This retired life is just a whirlwind of activity...

Black coffee, watching NH game wardens coaxing a bear out of a tree in a residential neighborhood on TV, cooking some Italian sausage and bacon to go with an omelet. No snow, but it did rain some overnight.

I'm reading Sigforum, drinking a Monster, reading the local newspaper on-line and getting ready for church. Looks like a warm, sunny day on the Gulf Coast.

Just dropped a small pork shoulder on the smoker. Going to let it run slow and low for a few hours and then finish it off in a crock pot with a little beer, some Herdez red salsa and peppers and onions along with some other seasonings.

Makes for excellent shredded pork tacos.

Watching it rain
I think most of the ice is gone, but it is a chilly wet morning. According to the news it is supposed to rain all day.

I just had breakfast, so now I am going to waste the day cleaning, packing, reading etc..

Oh and wishing I was at my parents house in Florida where it is supposed to be 77 today.

Listening to my wife translate the Korean news to me, not by choice.

Planning to go to my pops house for a late breakfast. My nephew and his wife and kids are up from Phoenix for the weekend.

Finished the flooring project yesterday, so today I have to take a load of cardboard to the recycle station and all the old trim to the dump.

That’s my plan at least.

Making breakfast for the kids (they chose Eggo waffles Roll Eyes ) and then heading to the grocery store.

This afternoon is my oldest’s birthday party. Her birthday is 12/28 but because of holiday break and Christmas we typically wait a few weeks to celebrate with her friends. Coupled with everything else this year we decided to do an outdoor party at the park for everyone’s piece of mind. Had to make arrangements that coordinated with some decent weather.

At the end of the day just happy we’re able to have one for her at all.

Fried up some home cured bacon with over easy eggs and some coffee
Going to put 4lbs of cheese on to cold smoke.
Then packing up the kids and headed to their godmothers house so she can do Valentine’s Day photos to advertise her photography business.
All culminating in the 3 hour ride away from home to work.
