President Donald Trump will be signing a memorandum recommending severe sanctions on countries with high rates of visa overstays in the United States.

The memorandum recommends, among other measures, placing travel restrictions on citizens of the 20 countries who have higher than 10% visa overstay rates, including Chad, Yemen, Syria, Angola and others. Over 415,000 individuals were suspected of overstaying their short-term visitor visas in FY 2018, according to Department of Homeland Security data as of March 2019.

“What we’re doing here is shutting a backdoor for illegal immigration,” a senior administration official told The Daily Caller. “This is part of the Trump Administration’s comprehensive approach to combating illegal immigration.”

Visa overstays account for nearly half of all immigrants present in the U.S. illegally. The administration has taken several measures in the past aimed at reducing overstays, including using biometric systems at ports of entries to identify travelers and notifying visa holders that their admissions period is set to expire.

The Wall Street Journal first reported that the administration was considering restrictions on the visa program last week.

“This issue is not only an issue of national security and public safety, but also one of economic security, as this form of illegal immigration imposes dramatic costs on American society because you have people promising to stay on a very short-term basis, but then never leaving and becoming dependent on our public welfare system paid for by U.S. taxpayers,” the administration official told the Caller.

The crackdown on visa overstays is just the latest in a line of administrative actions getting tough on illegal immigration.

Attorney General Bill Barr decided last week that illegal immigrants seeking asylum are no longer eligible to be released on bond, meaning they can be held indefinitely while they await court proceedings for their asylum claims. The Department for Housing and Urban Development followed that decision by proposing a crackdown on illegal immigrants taking advantage of public housing benefits.

Yep. Those of us who have followed the Clinton scandals back to their Arkansas days know how she reacts to not getting her way. We dodged a bullet.

quote:
Secret Service officials and other staff who worked closely alongside Hillary have previously reported her problems with angry tantrums on numerous occasions. Last year it was also reported that Clinton’s own campaign staffers feared she could have a serious meltdown and that Hillary had ‘been having screaming, child-like tantrums that have left staff members in tears and unable to work.’

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Tuesday that he will introduce a resolution to name a town in the Golan Heights after President Donald Trump.

The Trump administration officially recognized Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights earlier this month, after the international community had previously spent decades refusing to recognize the country’s authority over the land.

“In honor of President Trump, who recognized Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan, will soon call for a settlement in the Golan Heights in his name,” Netanyahu tweeted in Hebrew.

“All Israelis were deeply moved when President Trump made his historic decision to recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights,” Netanyahu said. “Therefore, after the Passover holiday, I intend to bring to the government a resolution calling for a new community on the Golan Heights named after President Donald J. Trump.”

Last year, Trump fulfilled his campaign promise to move the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aliv to its capital in Jerusalem. Around the same time, Trump also made the decision to pull the U.S. out of the Iran Nuclear Deal, a deal which Netanyahu had claimed was based on lies.

Conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh didn't mince words while addressing multiple issues Tuesday on "The Story with Martha MacCallum" but his strongest hits were aimed at Republicans who had yet to fully jump on the President Trump bandwagon.

"Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, we are not in politics. We are media titans, but we are not in politics. It is the party of Donald Trump right now, and the Republicans that don't realize that had better get on board," Limbaugh said, reacting to a New York Times op-ed by Joe Lockhart, a press secretary to then-President Bill Clinton.

"Republicans today are the party of Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Tucker Carlson — a coalition that, in the face of every demographic trend in America, will mean the long-term realignment of the federal government behind the Democrats," Lockhart wrote Monday.

Limbaugh said Lockhart's words were an example of frustration within the Democrats.

"They haven't been able to 'defeat me' in 30 years. They can't defeat Trump. They haven't been able to stop him, and I think they are frustrated. They have thrown every weapon they have in their arsenal at Donald Trump, and nothing's worked. Things they've used over the years that have been readily available to get rid and take out any Republican they want, they have bounced off of Trump," Limbaugh told Martha MacCallum.

Limbaugh criticized the Republican party for not fully standing behind Trump and celebrating his "victory" when the Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report was released. He also noted that Trump wasn't just taking on the Democratis but was battling the Washington establishment -- including Republicans.

"Where's the Republican party with the celebratory emails to their voters? Even fund-raising, or just celebrating the victory, where are they? You don't hear them. The reason is, Martha, because this is a battle not between two parties, this is a battle between the Washington establishment and the deep state, I call them the administrative state, and outsiders and Americans who feel disenfranchised or unattached," Limbaugh said.

Limbaugh also went after Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, for saying he was "sickened" by the president's actions as documented in the Mueller report.

"There is no reason not to get behind him unless you don't like his voters, and that is where I think the key to understanding this is," Limbaugh said.

In the Limbaugh interview, linked above, Rush says that Hillary "needs to go to jail." And, I would add, not only Hillary, but the whole cast of characters who tried to overturn an American election-- they all need to go to prison. This is not just a matter of revenge, though it would be sweet. It's much more important than that. I would even say that it is historically the most important part of the treachery of the past few years.

If none of the key figures goes to prison, what we have seen in this silent coup will not only happen again, but it will be much worse next time. They will be emboldened by the lack of consequences. They will have gotten away with it. They are all still strutting around, pimping books, giving well-paid speeches, blabbing on the leftist networks.

Barr, as the trustee of the rule of law in America, cannot allow that to be the upshot of treason. Sessions was not just a failure, he became part of the problem, as damaging to our country in his own clueless way as any of the perps.

It is all up to Barr now, and the stakes could not be higher.

You know, it just occurred to me that as I sat glancing at CNN over my lunch break yesterday in my company cafeteria that the dems are back on the impeachment bandwagon with some republicans supporting them.

With no reason to impeach and them still pushing the issue, I realized that they are now even more desperate than before. They realize that President Trump will be reelected and nobody on their side can stop him. Now the establishment is trying to take him out before his term is over and they don't even want the possibility of having to put anyone up against him for reelection because he's proved them all to be a bunch of empty suits.

Rush even commented yesterday asking; why aren't republicans rejoicing and taking victory laps? Why are they not riding the momentum? Because to do so would cement a President Trump reelection. The uniparty cannot have that.

The establishment is drowning and is in utter panic. GOD forbid they have to do things that strengthen this country and it's people. They cannot have that.

Tony.
