This is what I have been saying for years the above and REQUIRING employers to check ID with the feds...now its optional would drive people back home.

BY JORDAIN CARNEY - 06/18/19 07:20 PM EDT

The Hill > https://thehill.com/homenews/s...gency-border-request

......." The agreement will be marked up in the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday, and is expected to get a vote on the Senate floor before lawmakers leave for the July 4th recess next week. " .......

This will be great for the 4th Celebration speech

From the above link: "There are still hurdles to getting a bill to Trump's desk, including garnering support from House Democrats."

Even if Nancy backs the bill (and that's a big if), I'm not sure her "flock" will go along with her.

Very true - there's always the Democraps to deal with, but then there is this:

"Leahy told reporters earlier that he was optimistic they would be able to get a deal before Wednesday's mark up. Without an agreement, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) had threatened to force a vote next week in an attempt to make Democrats go on the record blocking humanitarian aid. "

It is getting less popular to block border protection - might have to go on record! Eek

Also, if Leahy blesses it, I think the votes will come in.

China might give up North Korea, holy shit.

This is pretty huge, IMO. I have immediate, extended, and church family members that are either from South, or escaped from North Korea at some point decades ago. In some ways this feels like some of the early cracks in the Berlin wall.

I don't know how to quote the article without breaking all of the images and links to the sources, if someone else has excellent link-fu...

Thanks to some dumb-ass reporter asking Trump if he would apologize to the Central Park Five, they are back in the news. By the way, Trump is right -- there's more evidence against the Central Park Five than just the partial story the news seems to want to cover.

“Sarah, Sarah, Sarah”...

"Some things are apparent. Where government moves in, community retreats, civil society disintegrates and our ability to control our own destiny atrophies. The result is: families under siege; war in the streets; unapologetic expropriation of property; the precipitous decline of the rule of law; the rapid rise of corruption; the loss of civility and the triumph of deceit. The result is a debased, debauched culture which finds moral depravity entertaining and virtue contemptible."

Dems make U-turn on calling border a 'manufactured crisis'
BY ALEXANDER BOLTON - 06/19/19 06:05 AM EDT

The Hill > https://thehill.com/homenews/s...-manufactured-crisis
...........
"Democrats now acknowledge there is a genuine humanitarian crisis and are preparing to pass legislation that would provide as much as $4.5 billion in federal aid to address the surge of migrants from Central America. "......
........
"A Washington Post–ABC News poll published in late April found that more than a third of Americans saw illegal immigration as a “crisis,” an increase of 11 percentage points compared to January."
