I used to drink about two bottles of red wine a week... then I discovered single malt and good bourbons.

This week, I decided to give my bourbon and malt bottles some time to settle. Pulled the cork on this pinot noir while preparing the stuffed shells last night.

I don't get too excited by pinots, but this one is pleasant to drink and has just enough heft to make it into the serious category.

My new signature drink, the Old Fantastic. In a rocks glass:

2 teaspoons brown sugar and enough water to dissolve
squeeze of orange
ice
equal parts bourbon (Red River) and Strawberry Fanta
dash of bitters

A local ATL micro brewery "Three Taverns" IPA A Night on Ponce. I am not a fan of the hoppy American style IPA that can be very floral and bitter. But this IPA is really good. Reminds me of a European IPA like Samuel Smith's.
