The hubris of the left is truly astounding. DeSantis had no problem taking on Disney and Disney wound up a distant second in that exchange with the loss of their self governance. If anyone at Hyatt had a functioning brain, they would have realized that yanking a liquor license isn’t even going to cause DeSantis’ government to break a sweat.

Ten years ago our favorite Italian restaurant incurred a 30 suspension of its liquor license for serving minors. It was a very popular place - always a wait. They never recovered and a couple months later they closed for good.

Losing its liquor license can be a death knell for an establishment.

Good for you Governor!

Thank You Desantis. About fucking time some one said enough. They ought to put the performers in jail on any and all appropriate charges.

So, I did some very basic investigation about the legality of children being at adult performances of any kind in Florida to see if I could figure out why the first thing they went for was the liquor license. Well like most states, Florida has a whole lot of laws and I couldn't necessarily pinpoint an exact statute that was being broken as a general child endangerment sort of thing.

However, I did find some additional comments from the AG and Press Secretary that I think added a little more context. Here are some quotes from this article ( https://www.foxnews.com/media/...alized-acts-sit-back ):

Press Secretary: "Such action violates the [Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation's] licensing standards for operating a business and holding a liquor license."

State AG: <paraphrased> the investigation will boil down to particular facts and circumstances that could determine whether the event broke state law.

So, I gather from that two things. First, the Liquor License process is at the discretion of the state executive branch, so they can revoke it without needing to hold a court case first. That process can start and end in the executive branch. So, the Liquor license was faster. The other thing is that the existing child endangerment statutes must have been more open to interpretation than the AG would like since this happened in December and there still doesn't appear to be a case brought under any other statues. At least, not one that I found.

another response to this incident that I DID find was a law that was proposed in Florida earlier this month that directly addresses children being present at adult performances: https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1423

I have to assume that means that, when the AG looked at the laws on the books, making a case against the Hyatt was not as certain as they would have liked under whatever other statues may have already existed. I didn't find any public commentary from the AG as to why that was true, but since a law has been proposed which addresses it directly I'm guessing the language of that law would show us what areas they were having problems with under existing laws. From reading the proposed law, I would say that some of the problems the AG found were: the ability to go after the venue rather than the group staging the performance. The possibility that the venue staff would reasonably be able to claim they had no idea kids were there, or that some of the audience were kids, that parental supervision didn't make it OK, and that there was some wiggle room around whether fake boobs or dicks were different than real ones. That is all just my guess from reading the proposed law, so take it with a grain of salt.

As long as they aren't harmful or illegal, I don't judge anybody for their "turn-ons." Just keep it between adults.

I watch youtube channels instead of tv, but the silicon valley mafia still tries to force their globalhomo onto my screen. I clicked these two links, like I do occasionally on Trump stories, to see what the sheep are thinking in the comments. Somehow even the empty headed masses are against this drag show bullshit. Go straight to the comments to feel a little bit better about western culture.

Any sane person with kids, or who had kids, or thinking of having kids should be against it, this is similar to when COVID sent kids home and parents found out the BS going on in classrooms with woke school agendas

The only "parents" that would think it's ok for their kids to watch simulated gay or straight sex acts on a stage are ones who are messed up to begin with. Wonder if those were adopted kids of gay couples who did this, if so, the kids should be stripped from them immediately.

Someone asked who could be charged, Actors are probably 1A protected, but the parents that took minors into the events should be reported to the Florida DCF

You'd think after DeSantis punched Disney in the Gut that Hyatt would have thought better of taking him on....
